Mouth watering notes of redcurrants and cranberry on the nose, very sweet and enticing, which are mirrored in the first sip, then broadening out into a fantail of red berries, wild strawberry and cherry, quite intense and sweet, but which a crisp, elegant finale stops from tipping into syrupy flavours. here's also a savoury meaty hint to the middle section I really liked. No green, no brett, well-judged ripeness, this is a great advert for Loire reds.

Perhaps the last was a bad bottle, because I underestimated it - this one was very good indeed. No brett, only a modicum of leather, and gobs of sweet red berries from start to finish, very fresh and precise, very traditional, there's a soft, deft touch to the fruit which is really appealing. Great value too.

A little brett and leather at first, then a sweet and persistent wave of red berries, but slightly lacking in intensity on the finish, so good but not great. Probably needs drinking over the next two years.

Great nose of blackberries and some leathery funk. The palate was more discreet with black olives but fresh and with good acidity. Perhaps a 1/2 decant would have helped open this up more. The depth of color and aromas combined with the freshness on the palate made it enjoyable but not moreish.
