  • This wine takes a little getting used to. The heavy oxidative notes are a little much at first. However, with some time you get the nuts, hint of honeycomb, some salinity. Paired with some Comte cheese which is a natural.... (pun intended) pairing. Delish..

  • I'm down to my last few bottles of 2007 and that's a sad state of affairs. This is a glorious Cotes du Jura, firing on all cylinders. Served on this occasion in Zalto Universal stems, well chilled but warming in the glass, to accompany Szechuan food. There are not many wines out there that can handle spicy beef tendon with peanuts and cilantro! This has great richness and depth, but the tension and structure are so precise that it doesn't feel heavy at all. The oxidation level is perfect for me, playing in, around and over the waxy, honey, nutty, salty notes. I can see these wines aren't for everyone. I love them. Based on the '07 has developed, I'd age them all at least 10 years.

  • Lovely. Richly flavored while having an elegant feel. Nice acidity. The oxidation notes are part of the meal instead of a topping. Quite tasty. I don't see the fruit depth for improvement. It's in a great place now. Very good.

  • Not for everyone, but damn this is fine, fine wine. Great pairing with difficult flavors of Szechuan food. In your face aromatics of almonds, seaweed, oxidative notes, and a broad, rich palate with sharp cut and precision. Love it.

  • I think a number of the notes here reflect my thoughts. First, if your looking for fuel/petrol aromatics than this is your wine. Second, full frontal oxidation (hazelnut, caramel and rum notes) -- really powerful wine, but it's also quite elegant. Not something I would want to drink every day, but very enjoyable and memorable and would make for a great pairing with the right food or a great pick with cheese.
