Last of my 2006 bottles. Wasn't quite sure what to make of it. The fruit was there but kinda muted, the earth wasn't too strong - which I like - but overall, maybe the wine was tired but still had good fruit? That doesn't seem to work in my mind. Wish I had just one more to check on it, but its been a glorious decade long run with many fun consumptions between then and now.

Wow, so does all Vino Nobile have the high toned maraschino cherry and orange zest thing going on? Beautiful, serene, and then soft on the mid palate, finishes with monster grip. Well, maybe not monster, but lots of power.

I was disappointed with this wine. It was shut down the entire time and never opened up (over two days of having the bottle opened). Did I age it too long, was the bottle flawed? I suspect something was off. Some red fruits, followed by tart plum, with a wild Sangiovese herbal flavors, but otherwise one dimensional. I know that Vino Nobile can be better than this and Boscarelli is one of the best producers. Again, something was off here.
