  • Cloying, intense sweetness upon opening. I let the wine breathe for an hour but was disappointed to find that the sweetness remained with little weight behind it and no acidity. Some stone fruit on the palate but the wine is past its prime. A big disappointment considering I had Sipp's 2008 Grand Cru Gewurtztraminer just a few weeks ago and that wine was a pleasant surprise.

  • this is a really nice bottle of wine, a bit sweet but with a lot of acid as well. Very well balanced. Drank it with tapas, it did well with both fat cheese, olive olie, beetroot, broccoli, salmon and so on. The only thing that it did not match with was honey. I'm so glad that I still have two bottles left.
