ON THE PATIO @ OEGSTGEEST: Advanced nose of aged white fruit and mushroom. The palate was expansive with great complexity and structure. Full of very mature notes and some acidity lurking beneath – amazing.

Tasted blind, knowing it was a Chablis. Very mature bouquet with limestone/chalky minerals. On the palate focused minerals, a lot of tart apple and oxidized impressions. The apple dominates the taste. The wine is past its prime, but still really a great pleasure to drink. I scored it 89, but considering the age it probably deserves a higher one.

Leiden tasting: just another day.: Sweet, mineral, complex nose, bit buttery, actually very lovely. Taste unexpectedly is fairly acidic but nice and non-obtrusive, flowery, mineral. However the midpalate is much too lean, showing the vintage. This also shows itself in the finish which is nice and long but lean. Great experience. Rating this wine is wine is difficult, because parts of the wine get different scores, so I won't rate.
