  Must have been a perfect bottle. Consistent with previous note except from being more energetic and lively. Not as much oxidation notes on the nose, pure with a lot of mushrooms, mature apples, fine Calavados, nougat and so on. Creamy mouthfeel. Still a lot of acidity left. For me personally this is at its peak.

  Basically a bit toned down Dom Perignon 1990 without the bubbles.

  Mature nose of dried tropical fruit, all sorts of nuts, apples, pears, honey, butter, almond icing, fine sherry, ox, ocean and vanilla sweetness. Deep and complex. Still lots of energy left with mature and balanced acidity. Creamy with honey and sherry notes. A bottle in great condition, been longing to try some older Valette and this bottle did not disappoint. It's come a long way maturity wise and perhaps lacks a bit of quaffability but no question it's a wine that delivered in par with the expectations. Will certainly hold for a lot of years but I doubt it will get any better.
