Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Last of three bottles. Slight sulphury notes from earlier bottles not apparent here. Bright, pale straw-gold; nose is very mineral-driven with a little lemon curd and spice. Med-bodied and really interesting mix of mellow citrus, spice (cardamom?), and more minerals on the palate. Long, juicy finish. Really nice!

  • Bright, pale straw gold; very flinty and mineral-driven aromas, vaguely gunpowder or sulfur notes at first. These blew off a bit, leaving green apple and pear notes; med-bodied, more apple and pear with a hint of toasty nuts. While in a style I like--juicy, vibrant, mineral-y, and structured--this was edging too far in that direction, almost austere. Good, but not great.
