Drinking very nice today. Notes of cassis and cedar against dark and balanced fruit. Starting to develop some secondary notes as well. Could benefit from a 30 minute decant.

this 1,000-case production cabernet is just entering it's drinking window. just a bit of bricking, this is still dark colored. nose still shows lively currant fruit with clove and vanilla, but there are also some gorgeous toast, dried tobacco and dried cherry aromas. very nice nose. full-bodied, this is starting to really smooth out and show some dried cherry, black currant, smoke and herbal flavors. there is a good amount of oak, but i think it is well-integrated. long finish. maybe time has helped, but this is a great cab that will continue to develop for a few more years and drink for, i don't know, at least 10 more.

dark purple opaque, fresh currant fruit w/cedar, dill, vanilla, menthol and clove, toasty heavy oak dominates palate with dried currant fruit, full bodied with low acid and short finish. disappointing for a reserve level wine. steak, lamb something that will soak up the oak. 0G (Republic, 55.00)
