Leaner than I recalled from prior bottles. Fairly refined tannins, pencil lead, pleasantly lithe, textually. I didn't get a lot of flavor behind the tannins, and don't recall the aromas in any detail. Will try again this evening. Impression of a well-made, rather rustic cabernet-ish red with appealing sincerity. The combination of 'sincerity' and ample tannins brings to mind some of the Nebbiolo-based wines from obscurish appelations in Piedmont - if that helps!

Sweet raspberries and loam draped on a structure of granite. With air some lithe wild brambly notes begin to intertwine with the rest.
A treat for myself during quarantine. Even with everything going on CRB can still make me smile uncontrollably.
The only explanation I have for this wine is that 11 years ago Didier started harvesting grapes with the thought "Jay will need cheering up when the coronavirus quarantine hits in 2020. I know just what he'll be looking for."

Not the best bottle of this that I've had, much more closed than the last bottle (which was magnificent). Such a unique experience and unlike any other wine on the planet. The snappiness of the earth and leather to the fruit and the sense of deep earth on the palate are still haunting even if it isn't at its most friendly.

The best bottle of this I've tried as well as the most balanced and delicate. Really coming into an interesting stage where I might attack more bottles than normal. I perfect monument to Catherine, Didier and those great old vines.

Floral, herbal, and blue-fruited. Well structured; fine but plentiful tannin, nice acid. Still quite youthful.
