young showing; it has the cool minerality of the terroir and no signs of the hot vintage; the wine is fresh and fine, vibrant fruit, lacking a bit only in length and depth... years to go, but where? #withBo@theterrace

Alas, my last bottle. This one was on full throttle: Red fruit, forrest floor, black olives, garrigue and overall a super intense bouquet. Palate it's fresh, made of red berries, well balanced, maybe a hint of alcohol. It drinks wonderful now. Very nice. 90-92

Intense nose with aromas of red berries and cassis, turning to black ripe fruit with time in glass. Garrigue, forrest floor and fennel are very present, along with spices. On palate it's medium to thin bodied, smooth, lush with a red fruit and black pepper finish. Very nice.

(Le Clos du Caillou Côtes du Rhône Les Quartz) Medium dark ruby color with pale meniscus; wild berry, herbs, garrigue nose; tasty, wild berry, garrigue, anise palate; drinking fine now, should go 3-4 years; medium-plus finish (85% Grenache, 15% Syrah)

A private dinner (Restaurant Johannes, Amsterdam, NL): Rich, almost balsamic, rounded, griotte, sweet fruit enveloping the ripe tannins, port-like, intense, liquorice, impressive but obvious.

North Berkeley Portfolio Tasting: Brief Notes (Presidio Golf Course, San Francisco): Definitely ripe but this is leavened by herb and tobacco scents. Good feel without overextraction or overripeness in the mouth. Good but hard to justify its $40 price tag. I'd go for the Mont Olivet CdR at about half the price.
