Decanted two hours prior to wake up the wine. Color was garnet with a blue rim. Very little bottle bouquet or nose in the glass upon first opening. After two hours exposed it went back in the bottle with the cork for another two hours prior to pouring. Black cherry with stone fruit notes on the nose. Medium mouth feel with noticeable acid around the edges. Tannin was fully incorporated and led to a long, lingering finish. The wine was fully developed and still showing well, but it felt like another year of aging might take something away. This was an over the top pairing with grilled wild venison w/ stuffed portobello mushrooms.

75% merlot, 22% cab. Sauv. 3% Barbera an interesting mix. Color dense, dark and red. Nose jumps out at you.. Good body, round and sweet taste; slightly "dusty", medium weight, good mouthfeel
