Mushroomy barnyard Burgundy nose to start, which quickly disappeared as it warmed up. Next was the usual Central Otago strawberry followed by an abrupt shift into unleaded petrol territory: both smell and the aftertaste that overwhelmed a tight mouthfeel. This lasted about 15 minutes as it reached room temperature and was not at all pleasant. Finally the long legs down the glass announced a return of more subtle berry fruit and the loamy mushroom flavour.

No formal note taken. Quite fruity; dominated by red berries with a hint of oak - one dimensional and a little boring. Lacks focus and definition. It seems one for the shorter term.

Central Otago Wine Trip December 2010; 12/20/2010-12/23/2010 (Central Otago, New Zealand): The nose was a little shy and the wine very tight and young, this had beautiful sweet fruit, good acidity and good length, this could be an excellent wine given enough time
