Lovely, pale green-gold color. Rather subdued on the nose but showed flowers, honey, pears and spice. Both rich and structured on the palate with very good acidity (this was viognier?) and a lovely, persistent smokiness. This wine was quite a surprise as it comes from Willamette Valley fruit. The winemaker suggested that this is where it gets the better acidity - seems plausible to me. I doubt I would pick this out at viognier in a tasting but so what, it was a delicious, food-friendly, complex white. Tasted from a sample at the winery.
