This is a different Chardonnay. Almost a cross between a California Chard and a Chablis. Starts out french and ends with a USA toastiness and a spicy finish that may not be for everyone. Interesting.

An absolute disappointment if you read published reviews (92WS/87RP) vs cellartracker. I've had three bottles, tried over 12 months. Varied serving temps, aeration, etc, feeling that I'm missing something, but feel very safe that I can now call it as it is just a sub par wine. One of three attempts was okay on pop and pour, and the others weren't. Then, as though that's not bad enough, air has consistently made it worse. There just isn't depth, color, nose, or anything remarkable. Oddly, I'm not even comfortable serving to those who have Yellow Tail tastes. Again, cannot understand where those scores came from unless this lost it all post-bottling.

I cannot believe this wine got 92 pts from Wine Spectator. Opened this wine and it was really unpleasant. Not spoiled, just awkward and not good. Vacuumed and put in fridge. Opened 2 nights later again. Not improved at all...it went down the drain. Would not recommend this wine at all.

Pacific Northwest Tasting Trip (Walla Walla Day 2): Nose of yellow apple, apricot.
Palate of apple, pear, with good creaminess and minerality.
Good balanced chard.
