  • The remarkable thing about this 23 year-old red blend is its tasty freshness. It is very light on its feet. A bit cloudy. The wine is medium-colored brick red still out to the rim in several layers with a slight tint of brown. The nose is complex, moderately aromatic with pepper, clove, liquorice and blackcurrent. A hint of musk is the only sign of the wine's age. The fresh flavor comes from the crisp acidity, soft tannins (no bitterness or drying), a light to medium mouthfeel dominated by blackcurrent and clove. The wine finishes short. The wine offers an unusual Napa blend, not aged Bordeaux, something more Californian-Zin perhaps. To maintain the aromatics, do not decant.
