Great scent of ripe orchard fruits, stone, flowers and some sponti yeast funk, but it's rather ripe on the palate where it comes across with the sweetness and richness of an Auslese. There's decent acidity here, but I'm left craving a bit more cut and focus, though it's certainly a very good wine.

Much richer and more tropical than the other Lauer bottlings I've had, though showing plenty of complexity with minerally and exotic floral accents. It's not much sweeter than the Senior or Unterstenbersch, but there's a sense of heaviness and overt power that keeps it from being as incredibly drinkable as those wines. Still, quite enjoyable though rather disappointing after the '08 (which I liked a great deal more). Update: Certainly more enjoyable after a couple of days in the fridge, with the fruit freshening up and the mineral flavours building in intensity, but still a bit disappointing compared to the other Lauers.

Pretty and approachable today. Sweetish and leaning toward the tropical side of fruit. Mineral and stone in the background.

Very good. This wine is all about tropical expressions and sweetness. Does improve after a couple of days in the fridge.
