Dark red. Did not really give very much up, though there is probably a decent wine lurking behind the gritty foursquare tannins. I'm hoping for better on day 2. So still quite backward and in need of seemingly much more time - there has not been much development since my first bottle from the case in March 2022. Not much pleasure here at the moment. (Score of 87, such that this matters, based on the here and now rather than the potential)

A quite deep yellow, actually quite unattatractive! The wine is fine, nothing particularly exciting, but a stony and flinty character to it, with a good dollop of white and yellow fruit. Part of my never-ending search for a house white that does not break the bank. This is OK, but it does not make the podium at this stage, and is a little too expensive vs what you get.

Alex's TWS dinner (Noizé, London): Dark copper, quite evolved, but still glowing. Marmalade, apricot, manuka honey, this is rich, floral, oily and quite lovely. Just love how this plays with your tongue, vibrant and alive, the sweetness and acidity are in balance and this will go the distance. Delicious now. Everyone should drink more Sauternes, the QPR is absurd and it is rare you ever get a duff bottle.
