  High shoulder fill. Still dark, but little flavor on both bottles mI opened. "Off" taste right away - sad since I have recently had very nice 1967 CDP's.

  This was a surprise. Deep purple. Initially it smelled terrible - seemed clearly a bad wine, but we waited; it went through a dark tarry period - not the pleasant kind of Rhone tar smell, but like a refinery. Then it cleared and opened into an amazing nose of clove and cinnamon - almost as if spices had been poured into the bottle. Lasted for over an hour - beautiful cherry fruit, too. Notably, this was a slightly low fill bottle, too - down about an inch.
