Arnaud Ente Meursault 2016. 93p

No notes taken. Given the reviews here I had higher expectations but in the end, it is was it is, a village wine with the limited depth you would expect from a non-Cru Burgundy. Certainly well-made, highly elegant and finesse-driven wine with lots of minerality but overall not that exciting (and certainly not worth the secondary market price tag – not considered for the rating). 90/91pts.
Decanting: A short decant should be sufficient.

Almost seven years old and really shining today. Subtle, elegant, dancing almost, silky texture, perfect balance, elegant and harmonious, delightful whiff of reduction, salty finish with an impression of bay leaf. At perfect peak.

Sharp precise and flinty with less fruit flavours than the coche dury meursault we drank next to. I preferred the coche for its more fatty and complete rounded drinking experience at the beginning. But the ente gained more weight with more air and eventually caught up and maybe even overtook the coche at the end of the evening.

Sharp, lemon, slight reduction, less notable oak than usual, fruit somewhat not very intact. Very characteristic of the vintage. 91-92
