2018 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon Acappella (USA, California, Napa Valley) 4/19/2024MH Amateur93

Blackberry on the nose.

Really soft on the palate. Higher acid cab. Very consistent from the front of the palate to the end. No detectable tannins. Good finish but not a long finish. (40 views)

2016 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena) 4/12/2024VAGenius91

60 minute decant. Nose of chocolate-covered cherries, thyme, and wet oak barrel. Rustic, chewy black cherry palate with graphite flecks, iron ore, and cherry acidity. Tannins still show some chew on the finish with clay, black plum, wet leaves, and lingering oak. Needs a couple more years in the bottle. (563 views)

1988 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley) 3/30/2024askchucky92

Drank with steak. Decanted for 90 minutes. Had so use strainer. Excellent wine but definitely showing its age. Still plenty of grape but becoming very subdue. Perhaps would decant a little longer.
The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is heavy sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry. (63 views)

2020 Corison Cabernet Franc Helios Sunbasket Vineyard (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena) 4/9/2024Rbhan1293

Such a gorgeous wine. Tons of elegance, fruit that is true to franc, hint of herbs and tobacco, lovely structure. (87 views)

2017 Corison Syrah Helios Sunbasket Vineyard (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena) 4/9/2024Rbhan1291

Tasted at winery. Medium light bodied Syrah. Nice lighter red fruits with hints of syrah meat underneath. Drinks well now and has structure to go awhile longer. 91-92 (86 views)

2017 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena) 4/9/2024Rbhan1292

Definitely has a touch more fruit than the 18 or the 19 but still elegant and drinking beautifully. Starting to integrate more. I'd say this will be best in 10y but can drink very well now. (452 views)

2018 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena) 4/9/2024Rbhan1293

Tasted at the winery.

Little bit darker with more serious fruit than the 19. Bit more coiled up in structure too. Comparatively dark and inky but still has the classic Corison elegance. Mineral-driven tannins with red and darker fruits.

Should cellar for 15y no problem. 93 (926 views)

2019 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena) 4/9/2024Rbhan1292

Tasted at the winery. Lovely color. Wide open for business as many 2019s are (at least in my opinion). Lovely red cherries and raspberries, some darker fruits, lovely complexity. Medium to medium light body with supple tannins and nice acidity. Elegance and power.

Should do very well in the cellar but can hardly blame pulling corks now. 92+, personally slightly preferred the 18 here. (871 views)

1999 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon Kronos Vineyard (USA, California, Napa Valley) 4/9/2024Rbhan1293

Tasted at the winery. 25 years young and you'd call it 10 if that. Pure red fruit with some density and sappy character. Loamy earth underneath.

Really nice and very elegant. A testament to Cathy's winemaking style. Will go another 10-15y no problem. (97 views)

2013 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon Kronos Vineyard (USA, California, Napa Valley) 4/7/2024ajrez94

It’s a unique, terrior driven wine. Perhaps not for everyone but I quite appreciated the divergence from the typical Napa cab and gave me a look at a different, uniquely compelling approach. It has some flaws but worth seeking out to provide a reference point compared to other, more mainstream producers. Candidly, I enjoyed it for what it wanted to bring to the conversation. (406 views)

2013 Corison Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California, Napa Valley) 4/4/2024dream93

This wine has such a purity to it but it's also quite tannic still and needs a ton of decanting time. After 3 hours, it started to blossom especially with rack of lamb and a wonderful berry spice shows up to accompany the succulent acidity and beautiful black currant/cassis fruit. There's also a gritty Rutherford dust note which gives this wine excellent vigor. The finish is lean and stylish with a taut, mineral intensity. Interestingly, the '13 Kronos is more open than this wine. Trusting as I do in Cathy, I'll let this one sit for 5+ more years to reach peak. 93+ (1012 views)

2014 Corison Gewürztraminer Corazón (USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley) 3/31/2024WindFlyer89

very pale golden straw colour and mildly viscous. delicate nose of rosewater, lychee, elderflower and coriander seed. dry, juicy and sharp in the mouth, a streak of lemony acidity runs from entry to finish. some fresh stonefruit flavours gain in prominence mid palate. as the wine warms, the coriander seed spice takes on a more gingery note and elderflower syrup accents bring in an unexpected twist of sweetness to a grapefruit pith base. moderate persistence.

likely past its prime by a couple of years, it's still an very enjoyable food wine in the right temperature window to display the moderate varietal character it has.
