2011 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 5/11/2024Darbus12394

Very complex, delicious and though provoking wine, so much going on especially with a few hours of air. But I think this will be even better with another 3-5 years of sleep. (34 views)

2023 Domaine de Chevalier L'Esprit de Chevalier (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan)5/4/2024Jeff Leve91

Fresh, bright, red berries, flowers, and cocoa show in the nose. Medium-bodied, the wine is elegant, soft, polished, silky, and vibrant, with sweet, ripe, red berries in the finish. You can enjoy this with pleasure on release. The blend is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. 14% ABV. Drink from 2026-2036. 90-92 Pts. (260 views)

2023 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 5/4/2024Jeff Leve95

Juicy lemons, white flowers, pomelo, green apples, and a hint of pineapples crowd into the perfume. The palate is packed with ripe, sweet, creamy, yellow citrus, green apples, honeysuckle , crushed stones, and vanilla-tinted orange rinds. You can enjoy this in its youth, or age it for more complexity. Either way, it is a treat. The wine blends 70% Sauvignon Blanc with 30% Semillon, 14% ABV, 3.21 pH. The harvest took place August 28 - September 6. Drink from 2026-2037. 95 Pts. (310 views)

2023 Domaine de Chevalier (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 5/4/2024Jeff Leve96

Blackberries, back cherries, barbecue smoke, cedar, smoked mint, and cigar box aromatics create the perfume. The wine is chewy, fresh, long, concentrated, and complex. The finish is like eating peppery currants dripped over Cuban cigars. Long, spicy, and intense, this is a vintage that will benefit from time in the cellar. The wine blends 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. 13% ABV, 3.68 pH. The harvest took place September 7 - September 30. Yields are among the lowest in the appellation at 31 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2029-2055. 95-97 Pts. (346 views)

Nose of red and black cherry fruit, currants, and allspice, same on the palate, big body, slightly fruit forward, needs 2 years to peak, signs of elegance, and a long finish. (1521 views)

1994 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 4/23/2024When Wine95

1994 Domaine de Chevalier from Pessac-Leognan is the oldest still white wine I tried so far so def a new experience for me. Medium amber color, still got iconic gooseberry and some bell pepper notes after 30 years. But the main notes now were dominated by beewax, hazelnut, walnut, roasted almond. The texture is almost oily (full body), very long finish with delicate oxidative notes balanced well with the medium plus soft acid. I dont think it can be hold much longer though. (26 views)

1994 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 5/2/2024cannym93

Medium gold. Decently fresh for its age, still some grassy sauvignon blanc, sharp gooseberry. But overlaid now by beeswax, honey, almond and lots else. An almost oily texture. Long. Well into maturity now but still very enjoyable. A very good bottle, appropriate ageing/oxidation only in this one. (55 views)

2015 Domaine de Chevalier (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 5/3/2024Francophile192

Decanted for 1 hour. This is a young, fruit forward, plush wine that needs more time in the bottle to take on tertiary maturity. Right now, it tastes like a really good California red blend. If you want it to taste like a Bordeaux, then give it at least 5 more years in the bottle. I was surprised by the amount of oak and vanilla sweetness on the finish. (2104 views)

2012 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 5/3/2024Hiker4life7091

I had this with Marin French Breakfast Brie aka magic cheese. This wine was oaky/buttery with a round mouthfeel. Apple and honeydew melon notes with a balanced acidity to it. Overall a nice wine. Maybe not the best QPR for me since I do prefer a Riesling and usually that is quite a bit cheaper. (191 views)

93-95 Punkte. 95-97 Punkte. Reiffruchtig, gelber Pfirsich, Honigmelone, florale Noten, steinige Untertöne; satter Gaumen, reichhaltig, rund, cremige Textur, gute Säure, der Wein zeigt viel Druck und bleibt dennoch elegant; sehr langer Abgang. Ausgezeichnet. (En Primeur Tasting April 2024) (338 views)

2012 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 3/24/2024SouthernStateofMind

Five (5) years since last visit. Decanted three (3) hours. Concur with "PPMM's" observations. Presents a lighter version than prior experience as oak has subsided significantly. Distinct herbal aroma is accompanied with muted aromas of lemon, apricot, pineapple, coconut & vanilla. Rounded with honeyed texture on the palate; ripe fruit is measured against lively acidity that leads to long satisfying finish. Drinking beautifully now and should do so for the foreseeable future. 2020 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan) 4/27/2024DrELW94

This is a clear light yellow colored wine. It has a floral nose. There's a complex mix of elderflower, green apple, lemon/lime, gunflint, and coconut on the harmonious palate. The structure is consistent and the consistency is silky. This is a medium bodied wine with balanced acidity. The finish is very clean. This is a good example of a textbook varietal Bordeaux - one of the best Bordeaux Blanc's indeed. (415 views)
