My last bottle. Really opened up after 1-2 hours. Blueberry really started to show through. (244 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Wonderful ripe and rich fruit with an underlying streak of iron. Love the dark fruit profile. Approachable but youthful. Trivial oak. Well made (342 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Even better the next day -- bumped up 3 points as it came together nicely without the tannic edge. Dark fruit and Montreal seasoning, pencil lead and earth. Really serious, interesting and really delicious. (666 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Still going strong. Slow ox and had all that 2010 vintage tannin and acidity going on. Very dark fruited and muscular but did soften some in the glass. Nose was tight. Serious. (624 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Just nothing there. Not a flawed bottle, just a wine with nothing to it. Like drinking pigmented water. (395 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |
| 2015 Four Cairn Grenache (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast) | 9/15/2018 | HandmadeHomemade | |
Lots of raspberry and strawberry, a little green funk. Hot and unbalanced, seems really manipulated, crystal clear in appearance, brilliant dark ruby in color. The wine comes of simple, red fruit, spice/heat, and green herbs. Very meh. (255 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

I still feel this wine lacks complexity. As a result, I feel I have done much better for $31 for a grenache. (365 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Definitely not as good as their syrah. The grenache is a bit too simple for my tastes. (484 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

Quick note only. Much less fruit forward than the 2009 and more complex than the 2010. This is my favorite of the three. I’m still holding my 2008 bottles so I cannot compare. Definitely in a nice place now and should hold a few more years. (917 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |

PnV. Medium dark burgundy in color. Nose of crushed rock, raspberry, leather. Ripe plums and gravel on the palate with quite a bit of acidity. Fruit came out more as the wine warmed. At 55°F the wine was quite firm, but as it got up past 65°F the wine fattened up a bit more. Regardless, I was expecting more but was a bit underwhelmed as it seemed a bit too linear.
Enjoyed in a Riedel Vinum Syrah glass. (1053 views) $ FIND THIS WINE on WINE-SEARCHER.COM $ |
