2014 François Raveneau Petit Chablis (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Petit Chablis) 12/8/2023Burgundy Al90

Birthday Celebration (State Street Manor & Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting, brief note from memory. Good richness to start with plenty of brightness middle through finish. This will hold well for a while going forward. I think this was the 1st vintage. (1115 views)

2014 François Raveneau Petit Chablis (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Petit Chablis) 9/3/2023Burgnick91

Good to revisit this after 5 years. It had laser-focused acidity and minerality with lemon, citrus peel, seashell and crushed rocks. Linear and focused. To me, it drank just like a Raveneau Chablis village. 91+ (567 views)

Raveneau Petit Chablis 2014 Mag.
Crisp, ren, elegant og deilig.
Lite modning å spore - sikkert best om 10 år, men er ikke lukket.
Super å drikke i kveldssola. 90p (577 views)

Small taste last night, note from memory. Magnum. Rich and complex for its level. A great success for its level. (1502 views)

Dujac and Moreau come to town (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Not quite the rich texture I associate with Raveneau, but more of a classic, leaner chablisien style. Minerally, bright, with lots of acidity and a relatively lifted texture. Very drinkable and pleasant. (1681 views)

PNP. Citrus and oyster shell nose. Lovely crisp and acidic palate, nicely detailed with lemon notes and a drying limestone texture. Lacks some depth and complexity, but otherwise drinking really nicely and a fun wine to consume on a casual afternoon party watching the Masters. (1023 views)

I second JFP’s prior review. This needed 20 min in the glass. A perfect wine to start off a dinner party. Just lacking on the complexity front. This is in its prime and should hold up in magnum format for another 3-5 years. (1003 views)

Crisp, refreshing yet with an intensity on the palate that I often find with producer. Does not have the complexity of his other wines, but delicious nonetheless. From magnum. (744 views)

2014 François Raveneau Petit Chablis (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Petit Chablis) 1/16/2021Xavier Auerbach91

First vintage for this wine, from young vines planted in 2010 above Vaudésir. Lovely oyster shell and citrus expression on the nose, hint of flowers; vibrant and fresh palate, classic flavour profile, apple and lemon, bright acidity; very good length with more chalky minerality than I remember from the bottle drunk in December 2019. Really very good for a first-vintage Petit Chablis, especially the clarity with which it expresses the terroir and the house style are remarkable. Drink now and over the next few years. (1888 views)

2014 François Raveneau Petit Chablis (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Petit Chablis) 11/14/2020Burgundy Al90

Popped-and-poured, this showed no signs of the reduction I often find in Raveneau. Lots of lemon and lemon curd with floral hints to starts. Richer citrus flavors to start, turning brighter and leaner towards its finish with good+ weight and length for its level. OK, this is the most expensive Petit Chablis out there, but I can only think of one other nearly as good. Very good now. (2401 views)

A private lunch (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL): The inaugural vintage of Petit Chablis at this august Domaine. Classic Raveneau, classic 2014, creamy lemon and juicy apple, with the lighter structure of Petit Chablis and a bit less minerality, but very good length. Drinking beautifully. (2007 views)

90p (2041 views)

2014 François Raveneau Petit Chablis (France, Burgundy, Chablis, Petit Chablis) 12/17/2018Ms. Bubblehead

2014 was the first vintage for petit Chablis, and most bottles are in magnum format. We brought a 750ml format that night. Petit Chablis plot is located just near by Les Clos (according to Kermit Lynch), it is basically young grand cru vines.

Great tension and purity on both the nose and the palate, lots of minerals, honey, yellow fruits, white flowers, distinctive Raveneau herbal note on the nose, great and pure acidity on the palate, stony fruits, and sea salt, still a bit too young to enjoy I think, but see a lot of underlying structure and potential for the wine.
