Tasted by Burgundy Al on 12/8/2023 & rated 90 points: Birthday Celebration (State Street Manor & Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting, brief note from memory. Good richness to start with plenty of brightness middle through finish. This will hold well for a while going forward. I think this was the 1st vintage. (1116 views)
Tasted by Burgnick on 9/3/2023 & rated 91 points: Good to revisit this after 5 years. It had laser-focused acidity and minerality with lemon, citrus peel, seashell and crushed rocks. Linear and focused. To me, it drank just like a Raveneau Chablis village. 91+ (568 views)
Tasted by hajoha on 6/24/2023 & rated 90 points: Raveneau Petit Chablis 2014 Mag.
Crisp, ren, elegant og deilig.
Lite modning å spore - sikkert best om 10 år, men er ikke lukket.
Super å drikke i kveldssola. 90p (578 views)
Tasted by acyso on 2/28/2023 & rated 90 points: Dujac and Moreau come to town (Chicago, IL): From magnum. Not quite the rich texture I associate with Raveneau, but more of a classic, leaner chablisien style. Minerally, bright, with lots of acidity and a relatively lifted texture. Very drinkable and pleasant. (1682 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 2/28/2023 & rated 90 points: Small taste last night, note from memory. Magnum. Rich and complex for its level. A great success for its level. (1503 views)
Tasted by llink on 4/10/2022 & rated 88 points: PNP. Citrus and oyster shell nose. Lovely crisp and acidic palate, nicely detailed with lemon notes and a drying limestone texture. Lacks some depth and complexity, but otherwise drinking really nicely and a fun wine to consume on a casual afternoon party watching the Masters. (1024 views)
Tasted by N.Bonaparte on 3/5/2022 & rated 92 points: I second JFP’s prior review. This needed 20 min in the glass. A perfect wine to start off a dinner party. Just lacking on the complexity front. This is in its prime and should hold up in magnum format for another 3-5 years. (1004 views)
Tasted by Fftjr on 3/4/2022 & rated 91 points: Crisp and refreshing. A nice start to great evening. (791 views)
Tasted by jfpwine on 2/12/2022 & rated 91 points: Crisp, refreshing yet with an intensity on the palate that I often find with producer. Does not have the complexity of his other wines, but delicious nonetheless. From magnum. (746 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 1/16/2021 & rated 91 points: First vintage for this wine, from young vines planted in 2010 above Vaudésir. Lovely oyster shell and citrus expression on the nose, hint of flowers; vibrant and fresh palate, classic flavour profile, apple and lemon, bright acidity; very good length with more chalky minerality than I remember from the bottle drunk in December 2019. Really very good for a first-vintage Petit Chablis, especially the clarity with which it expresses the terroir and the house style are remarkable. Drink now and over the next few years. (1889 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 11/14/2020 & rated 90 points: Popped-and-poured, this showed no signs of the reduction I often find in Raveneau. Lots of lemon and lemon curd with floral hints to starts. Richer citrus flavors to start, turning brighter and leaner towards its finish with good+ weight and length for its level. OK, this is the most expensive Petit Chablis out there, but I can only think of one other nearly as good. Very good now. (2402 views)
Tasted by LWI on 3/1/2020 & rated 90 points: Mellow, a little indistinct (1635 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/28/2019 & rated 90 points: A private lunch (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL): The inaugural vintage of Petit Chablis at this august Domaine. Classic Raveneau, classic 2014, creamy lemon and juicy apple, with the lighter structure of Petit Chablis and a bit less minerality, but very good length. Drinking beautifully. (2008 views)
Tasted by hajoha on 3/23/2019 & rated 90 points: Fra magnum.
90p (2042 views)
Tasted by Ms. Bubblehead on 12/17/2018: 2014 was the first vintage for petit Chablis, and most bottles are in magnum format. We brought a 750ml format that night. Petit Chablis plot is located just near by Les Clos (according to Kermit Lynch), it is basically young grand cru vines.

Great tension and purity on both the nose and the palate, lots of minerals, honey, yellow fruits, white flowers, distinctive Raveneau herbal note on the nose, great and pure acidity on the palate, stony fruits, and sea salt, still a bit too young to enjoy I think, but see a lot of underlying structure and potential for the wine. (2178 views)
Tasted by Burgnick on 12/16/2018 & rated 91 points: A solid village wine from a great vintage. Minerals, seashell and ripe yellow fruit. Expressive on the palate with good weight for a village wine despite a slighly short finish. But the acidity level was lower than my expectation for a 14 Raveneau. Quite nice already. (1820 views)
Tasted by bthatton on 7/15/2018 & rated 90 points: This has improved considerably since my last tasting. Really highlighting the craft of the producer, the flavors typically associated with Chablis now emerge in a sleek, pleasing way. Really a delight. (1653 views)
Tasted by d'Artagnan on 7/7/2018 & rated 89 points: Excellent, crayeux, bel équilibre, facile à boire. 89 pts (1864 views)
Tasted by Blake Brown on 5/11/2018: 2014 FRANCOIS RAVENEAU PETIT CHABLIS- Magnum, which I believe was the only format used for this bottling; pale yellow green colour; the Donnhoff may have been overshadowed by this lovely wine; it was just the epitome of fine Chablis; I got nice mineral laden citrus notes with lemon most prominent from the nose through the tail; the mouthfeel was the bomb and overall, this just sang out a beautiful tune. (1649 views)
Tasted by lucaslabelle on 5/6/2018 & rated 95 points: From Magnum (1489 views)
Tasted by davidb18 on 4/29/2018 & rated 93 points: superb Chablis. lemon, minerals; light weight. great wine. (1256 views)
Tasted by Gargantua on 11/22/2017: Oh, man. Creamy texture with a briny bite, this is what Chablis should be. This is meeting my expectations. What a stellar Chablis! (1707 views)
Tasted by Mrbuzz on 11/14/2017 & rated 94 points: Supposedly from young GC vines, bottled in mags, which is alright with me cuz a maggie of this is just about right...it's SO tasty and easy drinkin!! I had open in bottle for 6hrs, but could also use a decant. Pure and crystalline are first to come to mind here...VERY fresh and clean with that energized 2014 citrus acidity...lemon, crushed oyster shell, limestone chalk...all classic in flavor. Precise and razor-like, definitely light in weight, but more than just village...that Raveneau touch is evident with a SUPER soft balance and depth...and a finish that is quite long and persistent...TASTY as all get out! (1908 views)
Tasted by tcarter on 8/29/2017 & rated 90 points: Gitter's 50th Bday Dinner (Marino Ristorante): Massive petrol smell. I could gas my car up with this stuff! (2173 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio

Chablis

Chablis (Fédération de Défense de l'Appellation Chablis) | Chablis (Burgundy Wines)

2014 Vintage Notes:
"... a hybrid of 2004/2007 and 2010. The stone, citrus and limestone amalgam is exactly what we search for in Chablis as the style harkens to a day in the Cote de Beaune proper (1960's - 1980's) when wine was not meant to be consumed the week it was released, battonage was not used by all and new oak was rarely seen ... the texture is natural and 'of the vintage' not 'of the winemaker' .... Like Sancerre or the Loire in general, 2014 in Chablis is one of those rare years with extract and transparency. It appears to be a vintage for the "neoclassic" ages and those of us intent on cellaring the most terroir-driven (but still powerful) examples of vineyard, site-place and varietal will want to invest (heavily) in the magnetic and electric 2014's." - Jon Rimmerman

2018 Vintage Notes:
"There’s not that razor sharp Chablis acidity in 2018,” says Patrick Piuze. “But there is good definition of place. The dry conditions drove vines to drink deeper down in the soil profile."
