Tasted by cmr on 12/4/2023 & rated 93 points: This was a beauty tonight. (1128 views)
(536 views)
Tasted by Marlène on 7/1/2023: magnifique! (1283 views)
(1031 views)
Tasted by Jzizzle on 4/16/2022 & rated 90 points: Lots of sweet oak and rich fruit with some immediate appeal, there is also some spice light herbal notes and good balancing acidity. Enough going on to keep it interesting, but this mainly about the robust fruit and wood spice. (2321 views)
Tasted by Butragueno on 3/18/2022 & rated 85 points: Inky colour. Red plums on the nose. Vanilla. All Spice. Smoke. Rich flavour with Black pepper. Short finish. Medium tannins attacking my gums. Anise seeds? (1726 views)
(2220 views)
Tasted by GeoCab on 2/2/2022 & rated 91 points: Decant for a couple of hours and this will be great QPR wine, smooth, full-bodied Syrah, blackberries, oaky, just a very pleasant surprise. (2275 views)
Tasted by wino from way back on 1/6/2022: WS “ This red marries the ripe fruit and toasty oak of the international style with a savory, rustic character. ..."
I agree, plus a bit of prune or raisin but not sweet. Also needed some time to burn off a slight alcohol character. Nice finish. Great price. (2181 views)
Tasted by Jillianraye7733@gmail.com on 1/5/2022 & rated 100 points: Soo good (1529 views)
Tasted by rbfleming on 12/20/2021 & rated 90 points: Dark dark dark. Medicinal nose. Dark chocolate and hazelnut. Very interesting. (1539 views)
Tasted by rmcnees on 11/21/2021 & rated 90 points: Dark blackish garnet colored, full bodied, brambly concentrated blackberry and dark cherries, notes of creosote and tar with spice, smoke and savory soy laced black olive and bitter dark-chocolate with wisps of black pepper notes on a lingering tangy acidic finish.

Tasted by kkreinicke on 11/12/2021 & rated 89 points: Dark violet color, scent of current, blackberries and olives. First onset of whiskeylike taste.. smoke oak sweetness dry tannin.. then bring on the fruit... current, blueberries and blackberries, jammy plum. Leaves a semi-dry dry finish of jam, slight salty. Be nice with cheeses and appetizers. (1324 views)
Tasted by OldHick95 on 11/5/2021 & rated 93 points: Good dark fruit flavors balanced against earthy black olive and Tamari sauce notes. Time in the glass brings out fresh cherry. Integrated tannins and a medium long finish. This is a stout wine with a definite presence. (1257 views)
Tasted by cy_eats on 10/23/2021: Good QPR. Needed some air, but would be great with red meat. Drank on its own over 2 days, and tasted pretty good. (1313 views)
Tasted by ragavolley on 10/1/2021 & rated 89 points: Demande 3h de carafe.
Tasted by Marckus on 9/30/2021 & rated 90 points: Same experience as previous notes, but was maybe a bit cheap on the score last time. Deserves more than 89p...Has delivered well for this summers grilled meats (1402 views)
Tasted by ElJefeTX on 9/29/2021 & rated 92 points: Spanish Syrah with a dark purple hue and a weighty presence in the glass and on the palate. Aromas of kalamata olive and meaty plum with savory notes of blackberry compote, black currants, smoke, iron and wild herbs. Softer tannins on the finish. Nice complexity here, will look to purchase again. (1359 views)
Tasted by brett228 on 9/25/2021 & rated 75 points: Too jammy. Strong alcohol hides the fruitiness of its own. This is not quite sweet wine but the little sweetness in it bothers me. Texture is soft and the overall balance is good, but it’s just not my thing. Maybe there’s people out there who enjoys this type of wine very much. (898 views)

Tasted by GreggR on 7/18/2021 & rated 91 points: 20 - 30 minutes to open. Prior, initial pour had a sharp alcohol finish. Great nose and full flavored. Very enjoyable. Expect this to get better with age. (1790 views)

Tasted by Loki_87 on 6/25/2021 & rated 89 points: Wunderbare Frucht. Tannine perfekt eingebunden. Jetzt im perfekten Trinkfenster. Austrinken. (1669 views)
Tasted by stayhappy21 on 6/22/2021 & rated 90 points: Drank this at a wine mate's place for dinner. Theme of the evening: wines that go well with Peranakan food.

One of the wine-makers is Chris Ringland, the famed Shiraz producer from Australia. Dark red in colour with a purple rim. On the nose the wine presents ripe blackberries, and a touch of smoky oak aroma. Some cream and vanilla in the finish and aftertaste. Very well structured with a touch of class. (1722 views)

Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.

Campo de Borja

DO Campo de Borja
