| Community Tasting Notes (average 89 pts. and median of 90 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by PSPatrick on 9/20/2013 & rated 90 points: Flight 4, Alsace, Wine 2 (blind): The wine was bright, dark lemon in colour and offered an expressive nose of peach, apricot, lemon, some apple, mineral notes, petrol, a mild botrytis touch as well as first signs of bottle age. On the expressive palate the wine showed peach, apricot, apple, lemon, unripe pineapple and some mineral notes, paired with high racy acidity and very good length. The acidity seemed slightly bitter and a little out of balance. Drink now and over the next four years. (2025 views) | | Tasted by kleal on 1/26/2013 & rated 88 points: Bright yellow in glass. Nose of slight tropical fruit, touch of lime and minerals. Light bodied. Quite austere and doesnt give up much on the palate. Slight tropical fruits with a little lime. The acid is a touch overbearing at the moment and may require time. This wine may soften with time. (2230 views) | | Tasted by markellen.foodies@gmail.com on 5/8/2011 & rated 91 points: Acidity balanced the sweet tropical notes. Paired well with Hakkassan's menu. (2654 views) |

| Zind-Humbrecht Producer website Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is one of the stars of the Alsace, in the northeastern corner of France. Fought over for decades by Germany and France, the region, according to Robert M. Parker Jr., “is perhaps the most underrated and underutilized source of great white wines in the world.” Zind-Humbrecht was created in 1959 by Leonard Humbrecht and Genevieve Zind. Their son Olivier is now instrumental in running the 99-acre estate, which the family still owns. Like many Alsatian producers, Zind-Humbrecht makes white wines in varying degrees of sweetness, from dessert whites to very dry wines. The vineyards are planted to 30% Riesling, 30% Gewurztraminer, 29% Pinot Gris, and smaller amounts of Pinot Noir, Muscat, Chardonnay, Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc. Up to 18,000 cases are produced annually. Many are Grand Crus and single vineyard bottlings.
