Tasted by Terence Pan on 6/13/2017: Dark ruby. Nose of rich dark chocolate, toasted coconut, espresso bean, toffee, peppery, aged cured meats. Nice acidity, mellowed tannins, nice mouthfeel. Short medium finish of coffee. Very outstanding at a reasonable price. (1877 views)
Tasted by martinlopez on 1/18/2017 & rated 90 points: Capa alta, con ribetes marrones con algún tono anaranjado.
Quizá en curva ya algo descendente, pero se redondea al acompañarlo con comida e ir consumiéndolo.
Bastante astringente (pide comer), llena completamente y rápido la boca y tiene un retrogusto muy intenso y duradero. (1693 views)
Tasted by hdn on 10/13/2016 & rated 91 points: Blijft absoluut top. Zeer goede P/Q. Zie ook vorige notitie (1843 views)
Tasted by martinlopez on 6/18/2016 & rated 90 points: Capa muy alta, ribete marrón con tonos rojizos, estrechos.
Aroma a pimienta. Asoman ahumados y tabaco.
Intenso en boca, recuerda a los grandes clásicos riojas. No es original pero sí muy redondo. Potente retronasal y largo retrogusto, agradable. (1970 views)
Tasted by hdn on 5/20/2016 & rated 91 points: typisch tinta de toro. Mooi, warm en rond. Top (2111 views)
Tasted by ParisWino on 6/2/2015 & rated 88 points: A robust Toro that is drinking very nicely at the moment. Nose of tobacco, dark cherry, some earth and vanilla. On day 1 the wine was more forward, with a rounder, creamier mouthfeel; on day 2 the acids seem more prominent, the body seems a little thinner and it is in greater need of food. (1108 views)
Tasted by Triton03 on 12/24/2014 & rated 88 points: Robust, Peppery, dry, leather, smoky wood, a very solid wine that goes great with "cochinillo". (1255 views)
Tasted by Harley1199 on 3/8/2014: Viaje a Guatemala y Panamá; 3/8/2014-3/18/2014 (Guatemala and Panamá): Part of the Iberia first class service flying to Guatemala
Obscure violet colour with orange edges.
Interesting mineral nose of chalk, liquorice, smoked sausage, ...
On the palate an authentic six years on Toro wine.
A Part of Izadi group winery to watch.

Color violeta oscuro con bordes naranjas.
Interesante nariz mineral a pizarra, a regaliz, a salchicha ahumada,...
En boca una auténtica Toro pese a los seis años transcurridos.
Una bodega del grupo Izadi para seguir. (2777 views)
Tasted by ricard on 5/3/2013 & rated 92 points: Such a fan of Toro - it expresses the wild, untamed, rustic side of Tempranillo, and in the right hands can create world-class giants as profound and breathtaking as Pintia and Numanthia. But Toro also excels at good value robust, hearty reds, and Vetus is a splendid example of this. A leathery, smoky nose that also exudes violets and blackberries is followed by a richly sumptuous palate of treacly, chewy gorgeousness and a finish that's sufficiently peppery and uplifting to keep the wine evenly balanced and restrained. Jolly good for a meaty feast. (2091 views)
Tasted by farinas on 2/7/2013 & rated 91 points: Venison medallions and an assortment of hearty wines (Private Residence): Deep black color with some tears, nose full of spices, leather, and black fruits. Entry is very balanced and tannic with a body that has enough fruits to withstand the tannins and finish in light to medium note.
Nice wine with a full body and pleasing length. It tastes like a Toro and I would recommend it if you can find it. (2178 views)

Spain

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
