Tasted by ragtop on 2/11/2024 & rated 95 points: Good news. Beautiful dark purple black color. Only 8mm of cork creep. No brown at the edges. No tanin left. Perfectly balanced. Drinking beautifully. No need to keep longer, however should last 2-4yrs. Drink now if you have it. It’s at its peak. (250 views)
Tasted by Janstan on 9/19/2023 & rated 89 points: Went well with charcoal grilled sirloin. Dark sweet cherries and other dark fruits (550 views)
Tasted by MJM4032 on 8/21/2023 & rated 94 points: Still had very deep red color, nice balanced fruit and tannins, could easily go another 10 years (455 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 6/9/2023 & rated 92 points: Very dark red/purple color, 8mm transitional edge. PNP, drank a glass plus over 2.5hrs. This has a higher toned nose than the '05 Fombrauge next to it; earth, leather, cassi, dark raspberry, dried flowers, and menthol as this is really evolving over 90 minutesand longer. The palate is full and layered with the cassi, dark berries, and cherry notes, dusty, dried wood, earth, graphite, wood and menthol on the finish. Very nice, still on the uphill side. Certainly has 5 years (or better). (702 views)
Tasted by Janstan on 4/10/2023 & rated 90 points: Muted dark fruit. Went well with rib roast (645 views)
Tasted by JKbfdd on 6/26/2022 & rated 93 points: Has aged very well. Excellent pairing with steak. (1134 views)
Tasted by robertgf on 11/8/2021 & rated 92 points: PNP: Ready to go, yet wine opened in glass over the next 1-2 hours. Nice nose of earth mixed dark fruit, a rich full bodied wine. Well resolved tannins at this age. Wine is still at a good point but time to drink up. Credit to rocknroller for stating 2 1/2 yrs ago that the wine had the fruit to drink well for another 3-5 years. My score might be a point high, but Tapestry hits my palate’s sweet spot. (1598 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 11/7/2021 & rated 92 points: Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 4 hours. This was drinking well, and it improved in the glass over the first couple hours. The nose starts out just a bit closed, but it doesn't really take very long to see development. There is a mix of red and black fruit here. Red cherry and cassis, but as the nose builds the earth really emerges and there's some funk and cedarbox along with more creme de cassis, dried wood shavings and an enticing citric note. The palate is medium full to full bodied, dark cherry, plum and cassis, leathery, spicy, and earthen with a velveteen texture. I think these should continue to drink well for 5 to 10 years anyway. 91+ to 92pts. (1575 views)
Tasted by wyz on 8/7/2021 & rated 91 points: I'm not into Americain wines anymore, but this one was or favoriste from a trip to Napa/Sonoma in 2013.
It was really good, full of fruit but the oak was nicely finished and the acid was still present making the wine long.
Drank with seasoned steak, great pairing.
If you still have some in the cellar, this wine can stay there another 3-6 years easilt.
I didn't find any notes of evolution even 12 years after vintage, (1765 views)
Tasted by aaronwine on 5/15/2021 & rated 91 points: In a good spot right now for pop and pour. Loads of dark fruit, alcohol just noticeable but mostly masked, oak in background. Velvety soft tannins and big luscious Napa fruit. Would pair nicely with a steak but ok on its own. Prefer to 2008 but this may be my last of either vintage. This is in a fun to drink style and not a contemplation wine. (2069 views)
Tasted by wine4lux on 3/5/2021 & rated 88 points: Medium purple in color, poured a glass using Coravin, dark red fruit, some dark chocolate notes, licorice. Tannins have softened. Some evolution across the palate during the finish. After about 30 minutes in the glass, the medicinal taste noted by others becomes pretty noticeable, and not in a positive way. An OK Bordeaux blend that does seem to have upside from here. (1711 views)
Tasted by jstrovel@gmail.com on 2/27/2021 & rated 91 points: red fruits and a heavy feel in a good way. a bit of a woodsy taste. Nice for a bottle I thought could have been past the drinking window. (1399 views)
Tasted by mtred on 12/22/2019 & rated 90 points: Nice Bordeaux, wish I had another bottle. (2480 views)
Tasted by wconnolly on 6/29/2019 & rated 90 points: Medium garnet in color. Some floral notes on the nose as well as a bit of a medicinal aroma. Boysenberry, cherry, cassis on the palate. Tannins are smooth, silky and integrated but still offer ample backbone. Medium bodied with a medium finish. What a difference a year makes. (2632 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 5/26/2019 & rated 92 points: Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank 2+ glasses over 2 hours. On the nose, cassis, blackberries, lots of graphite, anise, clay, The palate is full bodied, blackberry, graphite, anise, clay, charcoal, dense and chewy, plenty of round tannin. This has the structure and the fruit is there to age another 5 years. 91+ to 92pts. (2824 views)
Tasted by bluepeter2020@outlook.com on 2/20/2019 & rated 93 points: phenomenal - aging beautifully. Drinking well now. (2649 views)
Tasted by timbobwhite on 11/3/2018 & rated 94 points: 1-1/2hr. decant. some sediment. Black center, purple edge. Nose of licorice, cherry, cedar, black currants. Showed a bit of Rutherford Cab character. Full, fruit driven, rich, balanced, tannins in deep background. A bit of Rutherford dust at end. This was one of the best BV Tapestries of the past few vintages tasted. In a great place now. Will likely keep for some time. 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec. (2952 views)
Tasted by Empirate on 12/24/2017 & rated 91 points: 4 hour decant.

Well balanced and restrained Napa Cabernet. Integrated and no youthful edginess. Best on day 3 after recorking and storing in the fridge.

Nice adolescense success story. Plenty to enjoy now. No rush and likely to continue to develop well. 90-92. (3342 views)
Tasted by Wine Lover 1964 on 11/17/2017 & rated 92 points: Decanter and drank over 2 days. Very nice balanced red blend after 1hr. Tannins suggest plenty of life left. Exceptional aroma and flavors after 2hrs of air. Day 2 no drop off what so ever. Will be interesting how this continues to evolve over the next 2yrs? 5yrs? (3077 views)
Tasted by Millennial Drinkers on 10/31/2017 & rated 91 points: Deep ruby red with a little purplish hue. Lish nose with dark cocoa, cinnamon, anise, dark red cherries, and a touch floral. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and rounded medium plus bodied, almost full. Well balanced with notes of licorice, spices, dark cherries and cocoa. Long finish. Drink till 2022. (91+) (3195 views)
Tasted by Jolayne0 on 9/6/2017 & rated 94 points: Decanted for one hour but I kept sampling throughout. Just got better and better. Nose was full of dark fruit, prunes, cranberry. Balanced tannins that carried the fruit to a long finish. Spicy, full-bodied and gone too quickly. This has improved since my last tasting. I have one more bottle left so we'll see what happens in a few years. Ready to drink now through the next 2-5 years. (2777 views)
Tasted by Kentw on 9/6/2017 & rated 89 points: Flavor profile seems to have moved backwards since last two bottles. More like what was drank in 2012 than what I had last year. Dark fruits still dominate, some mild forest floor comes out, not funky just a bit woodsy, finishes with some tannin. Better on day 2. Still very good but not quite the balance and smoothness of bottles drank between 2014 and 2016. My last bottle in this vintage. 89+ (1722 views)
Tasted by wconnolly on 8/31/2017 & rated 88 points: Medium garnet color. Earthy nose of moss and forest floor. Blueberry, dark fruit and a bit of cedar on the palate. This bottle could have aged a few more years. Tannins were still a bit edgy and for my taste this was a bit oaky. Still a good value and a solid meritage. (1559 views)
Tasted by timbobwhite on 4/22/2017 & rated 93 points: 2 hr. decant. Some sediment. Black center to deep purple edge. Cherry, black currants, oak/cedar, a bit perfumed. Rich, balanced, black fruits, medium to long finish. Excellent wine just coming into its own. Long life ahead. (2233 views)
Tasted by DougB2 on 2/19/2017 & rated 93 points: Great wine, last one of these. (2222 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
