Tasted by hoops92 on 12/10/2021 & rated 91 points: Still drinking well, but suspect its time to drink up. (1976 views)
Tasted by Champagne Toast on 8/25/2021: Hold 2-3 years: High tannins, not much of a nose. Closed still and could use some additional cellaring. Hints of dark cherry and anise, and leather flavors. Smooth though. Shows tons of promise. (2184 views)
Tasted by Jkrummell on 10/21/2020 & rated 89 points: Rather unremarkable, not much body. (2899 views)
Tasted by bryon m on 3/30/2020 & rated 90 points: Color, Clarity and body are all good. Soft mouth feel, Berries and some light fig flavors come in at the middle to end with a short and nice finish. Not too complex but easy (1994 views)
Tasted by pommieba@cox.net on 3/1/2020 & rated 92 points: Decanted 4hrs, rich round flavours of dark blackberry with a hint of vanilla. Super well balanced with soft ripe tannins and enough acidity to keep the taste buds interested. Aged and drinking well. Finishes long with dark fruit and subtle spice and leather notes. Shame it was my last one. An all round consistently good Alexander Valley cab. (2973 views)
Tasted by DravlaH on 11/27/2019 & rated 92 points: This has developed nicely and consistent with previous vintages of Jordans. The nose has a gooseberry, strawberry and vanilla aroma. Flavors of strawberry and dark berries. Medium full and good legs. A really nice cab/Jordan. Probably a great time to drink it. (3139 views)
Tasted by Magnolian on 11/26/2019 & rated 91 points: A pleasant surprise. Smooth, polished, well-integrated. Enjoyable palate of red fruits with a light touch of oak. Seems to be at its peak. (2797 views)
Tasted by Mr. Stinky on 9/29/2019 & rated 95 points: Smooth balanced, aged to perfection. At peak or very slightly past. Lacking fruitiness, but nice leather and oak . Supple tannins. Definitely drink now. (2576 views)
Tasted by swoop71 on 8/30/2019 & rated 92 points: Aged well in the bottle. Smooth and velvety on the palatte with an even balance of light acidity and texture. Deep red currant and blackberry tastes and a touch of coco on the finish. Perfectly paired with a pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto and bar-b-qued (2227 views)
Tasted by Klainetal on 12/15/2018 & rated 87 points: The wine has low acidity. The wine finishes medium. It tastes like raspberry, red currant and tobacco. The wine has polished texture. (2655 views)
Tasted by Echodog on 4/1/2018 & rated 90 points: This is the 2nd bottle I’ve been storing for some time now. It pours to a nice inky red color on rim of glass. Bouquet of red fruit (mostly cherry). Wonderful bursts of red fruit flavor. I could pick out the cherry, but there was definitely a lot more going on. Decantered for 40 mins and paired with a prime rib steak. Nice combo. In my opinion this wine is drinking very good right now, and possibly started to loose some of the richness of flavors that I got in the first bottle I had some time ago, but you gain the overall smoothness - what a trade off. Highly recommend (3531 views)
Tasted by henrydee on 2/21/2018 & rated 91 points: Well balanced (3481 views)
Tasted by mats13 on 1/1/2018 & rated 92 points: Refined, excellent example of a well made Alexander. Finding a lot of consistency with Jordan. (3505 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 10/30/2017 & rated 92 points: Opened and decanted an hour before a savory stir-fry of beef and chicken. Dark crimson color with a bright red/violet hue. Muted nose brings cherry spice cake, savory herbs, red roses, and whiffs of lavender. The palate is medium, round, juicy and chewy, bringing a pronounced secondary wave of tangy cherries, dark blackberries, coffee, milk chocolate, pipe tobacco, dried leather, and strawberry pie into the finish, which is lengthy, refined, and elegant. Overall, drinking well right now, but likely still a few years before peak. Drink 2018-2023. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 93. (4137 views)
Tasted by Coachron13 on 10/20/2017 & rated 91 points: Already pretty mature. Fruit and secondary flavors are shared at this point. Wouldn’t wait too much longer on these. (3403 views)
Tasted by WineAttic on 9/8/2017 & rated 92 points: Tasted a 2009/2011/2013 vertical at Jordan. The 2009 is easily my preference of the three as it is starting to mature and lose a bit of the fruit and get that musty flavor that I so desire in my big Cabs. It's still a little young for me but showing really well and would probably be considered better now than later by my wife. I'd hold for another 2-5 years and will probably order some as I know it's good now and will only get better from here. (2885 views)
Tasted by Mounty on 9/2/2017: To WY (2574 views)
Tasted by Badmonkey on 5/20/2017 & rated 90 points: A neighbor brought this over. Dark red and black fruit - dark cherry, currants, and blackberry. Smooth mid-palate but fairly light. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep with a little old world/musty flavor profile on the finish. Popped and poured but drank out of a decanter for a couple hours. A little improvement with time. 75% cab, 19% merlot, 5% petit verdot, and 1% malbec. (4842 views)
Tasted by lbatina on 5/1/2017 & rated 91 points: chocolate, full bodied and rich, full mouth, Larry drank over 3 nights. Deep color. Black/blueberries, lead pencil, other dark fruit, spice notes, strong tannins, you know you have drank something big. Well structured. (2597 views)
Tasted by RMapou on 4/21/2017 & rated 88 points: Typically not a big cabernet fan. This began dry, but quickly opened with fruit. (2420 views)
Tasted by Winowhyno on 4/17/2017 & rated 89 points: average....many better at this price (1043 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
