Very concentrated, just needs time and air to open up and deliver a memorable experience. Currently it's a nice wine but you're better off drinking the rutherford cab bottles now as they're more open for business. (1592 views) | | Tasted by Markie_Sharkie on 10/13/2015 & rated 91 points: This wine really needs to decant to get the best out of it. Dark fruit, soy and oak on nose. Blueberries and dark fruit that becomes very smooth after a couple hours. Nice bottle - wish I had more. (2574 views) | | Tasted by Tom Myers on 4/16/2014 & rated 89 points: Might have been the Mexican food beforehand that made it not as good as expected. (3147 views) | | Tasted by TexasBob on 3/2/2014 & rated 92 points: Gorgeous dark purple with brilliant ruby on the inside. Milk chocolate on the nose. Notes of blueberries, steak juices. Firm, gripping tannins. Really hits my sweet spot and will likely drink well for at least 6-8 years to come. 92. (3390 views) | | Tasted by Uglypinga on 5/22/2013: nice nose of dark berries, oak and a hint of soy sauce. some flowers in there. the palate shows bright red berries with great acidity and grippy tannins. i like it. (2475 views) | | Tasted by PLBoyle on 5/17/2013 & rated 90 points: A bit short on finish, but meaty smokey flavors on finish. Good fruit on nose & palette. Good showing & great value for 09 Napa cab. (2283 views) | | Tasted by TexasBob on 4/27/2013 & rated 88 points: Medium to dark deep garnet. Raspberry comfit with black pepper- marked black pepper on the nose. Red fruit centric with hints of blueberry. Gripping tannins and a chalky mouth-feel. (1531 views) | | Tasted by As-Is on 1/26/2013 & rated 90 points: It's important to allow enough time for this wine to breath. We drank it with prime rib and it complimented the meal very well. Not over powering in any way. Will continue to get better with age. (1276 views) | | Tasted by Uglypinga on 1/1/2013: Also neutral on this. Smells great, like a trb gem with loads of roasted dark fruits and chocolate. The palate is hollow in the middle for now with some of the flavors that the nose offers but again no real pop. The finish is fairly tannic so time will tell. (1078 views) |

| Round Pond Estate Producer websiteCabernet SauvignonCabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet SauvignonReserve The Wine News | Wine Country This Week | Wine Lover's PageUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Rutherford Rutherford,
