(2989 views) | | Tasted by kbosch74 on 9/22/2015 & rated 91 points: Wow. This is a fantastic Sav Blanc at this price point. Frankly, at any price point. Very happy t have discovered this. (3220 views) | | Tasted by wineshaman on 8/22/2015 & rated 90 points: Once again a very nice showing, plenty of lemongrass, kiwis, herbs, grass and stone, very smooth, crisp and refreshing. (3188 views) | | Tasted by McMalbec on 7/3/2015 & rated 88 points: Wife said it was delicious with quinoa salad on a warm summer day. (3375 views) | | Tasted by wineshaman on 5/11/2015 & rated 90 points: Consistent and tasty, plenty of grass, hebs, hints of citrus, mineral finish, great shellfish SB. (1534 views) | | Tasted by wineshaman on 4/26/2015 & rated 90 points: Grassy, herbaceous nose, lemon/lime, green tart apples, steel, stone, balanced, nice crisp finish, great choice to pair with seafood/shellfish . (1190 views) | | Tasted by vancouverpussycat on 2/25/2015: Tasted at TCC staff wine tasting. I loved it. Great with Chicken, pork, oysters and creamy cheeses. I would like to share with Kelly (1474 views) | | Tasted by McMalbec on 1/13/2015 & rated 87 points: Enjoyed with grilled fish on a warm, tropical day. (1576 views) | | Tasted by wineshaman on 11/23/2014 & rated 90 points: Grassy, herbaceous style, with lemon, kiwi and firm acidity. (1637 views) | | Tasted by Ombibulous on 11/21/2014 & rated 76 points: For good or for ill, the aromas of Sauvignon Blanc include cat pee. This wine definitely has that, at least when it warms up after a while. I wonder if, though a 2012 vintage, it's nearing the end of its drinking window too. Try to keep the bottle chilled while you're drinking a glass. The aroma is also grassy, with a minerality to the nosefeel. The flavour is citrusy and with strong acidity but with a really gross midpalate and aftertaste. Drink up; I recommend within three months. $12 for a half bottle. Overall value: 2 stars of 5. Overall impression: average. (1674 views) | | Tasted by wineshaman on 11/3/2014 & rated 90 points: Nice mineral laced SB, with hints of citris, grass, kiwi, lively acidity. Nice SB with food! (1707 views) | | Tasted by SonnyChiba on 10/6/2014 & rated 85 points: Decent nose, flowers, little bit of pear. Lemon and lime flavors on the palate, very citrusy and highly acidic -almost too much, a bit of a sparkling characteristic. Soso finish with a lingering rubbing alcohol note. Nothing stand out here, and probably would pass on buying this one again. (1698 views) | | Tasted by CJM on 9/2/2014 & rated 79 points: Crystal clear, very pale straw. Lemon, pineapple, green apple, grass, white peach. Low sugar, low acid. Grapefruit. Short acidic finish. (1710 views) | | Tasted by psundberg on 8/15/2014 & rated 87 points: Paired with a salad for lunch on a warm day and later in the day with a relatively sharp 2 year Red Leaf Canadian cheddar. It was, ah, OK. Not great, not ish. Fortunately it wasn't a grapefruit bomb, and at $15, it's a good value, but not the smoothness I expect from a Napa SB. (1455 views) | | Tasted by CJM on 8/9/2014 & rated 83 points: Clear to slightly cloudy, pale straw. Grapefruit, mango, pineapple. Very slightly sweet, low acids. Green apple. Short balanced finish (1484 views) | | Tasted by WineGuyFL on 6/22/2014 & rated 90 points: No change.....great sipping wine and a great value. Still very fresh and sharp. (1850 views) | | Tasted by McMalbec on 6/8/2014 & rated 89 points: Lemon zest and honeydew on the nose. More citrus, peach and some grass on the palate, medium finish. Served chilled, paired well with grilled prawns. Perfect for summer grilling, will finish off the case by Labor Day. (1696 views) | | Tasted by emf on 6/4/2014: Great with asparagus risotto. Aromas of peach blossoms and some citrus. Refreshing tastes of peach, pineapple and some citrus . (1575 views) | | Tasted by odds on 5/25/2014 & rated 89 points: A nice qpr.had it by glass. Honey, lemon and citrus on nose. Finish medium minus. That said, very nice on the palate and works well with fish and some sides. Good by the glass or pool party wine. For the price range (9 by glass, 15 or so at stores) very good deal. (1721 views) | | Tasted by vino_per_tutti on 5/9/2014 & rated 88 points: Melon, grapefruit dominate notes on nose; melon on the palate. Creamy finish. Good value. (1780 views) | | Tasted by dgkula on 4/28/2014 & rated 84 points: Softer and smoother than the Oyster Bay. All the same grapefruit and minerality but with a softer edge. Nose is of melon, grapefruit and a touch of honey. (1743 views) | | Tasted by Vailman on 4/18/2014 & rated 89 points: Grapefruit, melon, citrus and grassy notes. On the sweet side, but then again I didn't choose a Chardonnay for the evening. Well worth the price. (1758 views) | | Tasted by Bradford213 on 4/17/2014: Crisp and floral (1692 views) | | Tasted by pupaes on 4/2/2014 & rated 88 points: kind of seashell nose. huge, nutlike, tropical, sweet finish. seems to be missing grassy quality, typical in california vs new zealand. if you did not know it was s.b. you might assume a good viogner. 88 score and neutral is for lack of s.b. character. this would seem to match well with very flavorful fish. | Honig Producer websiteSauvignon Blanc Varietal CharacterUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
