Wine seems very viscous and thick. Not a light white. Not sure if this wine had more primary fruit when it was young but now the fruit seems to have gravitated to the background. I get a hint of melon. Also a bit of oak but not very pronounced. Good balance between acid, fruit, and alcohol. A get a bit of heat on the finish but not overwhelming. Maybe a slight minerality on the finish as well. Very nice. (176 views) | | Tasted by schwank on 9/14/2015: Sounds like there might be two of us who own this wine! Purchased at the tasting room in Carlton. Good typicity with a slightly viscous body and round fruit. Always enjoyable and a decent value for Rhone white here in the states. Some oak. Thick golden color. Full body. Delicious and really nice. Drink this on the first day, as Day 2 the wine was tasteless. We drank this with friends who also really enjoyed this blended wine. | Seven of Hearts Producer websiteRoussanne Wikipedia | Varietal character (Appellation America)USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.Oregon Oregon Wine, Oregon Wineries (Oregon Wine Board)Columbia Valley Columbia Valley Winery Association |
