Community Tasting Notes (average 88 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by WST on 6/29/2021: From a .375, over two nights (yeah, I know, a half bottle over two nights; I have a bigger buying problem than a drinking problem)
This wine did not show its age, showing more primary Chenin fruit than maturing honey and lanolin. At first blush, I would have guessed Foreau rather than Huet Sec more acidity, and less sweetness and viscosity than Huet Sec from recent decades. It rounded out the second night, more recognizable as Huet Sec (dead oxidized sip left for the third night). All in all, I enjoyed it. (779 views)
Tasted by LT98 on 1/31/2021 flawed bottle: premox. We could tell there was a good wine there, but this was flawed. (791 views)
Tasted by Vintage82 on 2/29/2016: just smokin. consumed over 2 nights. just as good if not better night 2. much more integrated and polished a showing than previous bottles I'd opened. I think these bottles were reconditioned at the chateau before re-release. This btl was gleaming in fact. (1695 views)
Tasted by aagrawal on 11/21/2015 & rated 88 points: Wineberserker's offline: Tartufo Bianco (San Carlos, CA): From a half. Golden-orange color; nose has some oxidation, orange marmalade; palate actually shows no oxidation, dry, slight minerality, faded just a tad through midpalate; medium finish. Very nice, and a nice treat, but in the end it lacks something distinctive to help it stand out. 88 (2306 views)
Tasted by Vintage82 on 6/26/2015: Late release from RWC. Brought into Volt in Frederick, MD. Honeyed but earthy with a dry finish. In perfect condition, but this seems like the right time in its evolution to consume. (1884 views)
(2008 views)
