Tasted by Gridrocker on 11/23/2023 flawed bottle: Oxidized (606 views)
Tasted by Julien D on 11/23/2023 & rated 92 points: Beautiful gold color. Powerful nose that bursts out of the glass. Notes of vanilla, lemon pie, flint at first. Then tropical fruit notes of starfruit, passion fruit, banana. Mouth is medium body, buttery with a sharp acidity still. Tastes young. Noble bitters, lemon, minerals melt in a medium+ to long finish. Very nice (519 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 8/19/2023 & rated 92 points: Quaffable. (1019 views)
Tasted by acyso on 3/15/2023 & rated 93 points: Flickinger dinner at avec River North (Chicago, IL): When they're on, they're on. A fantastic bottle that was almost indistinguishable from the 2017 alongside. Such freshness and electricity here, with oak providing the weight and breadth. Very high acidity, this tastes like it hasn't aged at all since it was bottled. There's a less than average amount of fruit here for this wine, and instead you get more mineral stuffing. A far more convincing bottle than my previous one a few years back. (2140 views)
Tasted by djhammond on 12/26/2022 & rated 94 points: Second time of tasting, and once again it delivered. It drinks like a Grand Cru and is great value for money. Tasting profile is as per previous note. 94+ (1562 views)
 Tasted by levicn on 9/18/2022 & rated 93 points: (1468 views)
Tasted by western on 6/19/2022: Deep golden color!!!! The dreaded "Pox' strikes again. (1684 views)
Tasted by djhammond on 5/16/2022 & rated 94 points: This is great value for money in the crazily priced market of white Burgundy, and more than holds its own against some of its more illustrious companions. The nose is complex with citrus and hazlenut, (thanks to a fellow reviewer for allowing me to identify that elusive note.) The minerality is superb and exquisitely balanced. Likewise the finish is outstanding and keeps building and building past 30 seconds with lemon and lemon peel notes in complete harmony. 94+ (1788 views)
Tasted by WKC on 12/21/2021 & rated 93 points: Deep golden color and nose was initially muted. Needed an hour to open up aromatically but was ready for business on the palate with firm acidity and good balance structurally. Smooth finish and decent length. Shame only managed to get the one bottle. Very good price. (1611 views)
Tasted by weezie on 11/3/2021 & rated 93 points: Similar to earlier notes but this half-bottle did seem to have lost a bit of energy that earlier bottles exhibited. While this is a half-bottle, my experience and that of enfantterrible suggests these ’08s might be at or just beyond peak. (1646 views)
Tasted by Enfantterrible on 5/21/2021 & rated 92 points: Excellent. Very precise. Good acidity. May be near its peak (1814 views)
Tasted by Geoff7777 on 5/16/2021: Pale golden. Initially quite closed and needed air to open up. Then boom! Citrus, spice, mandarin peel and hazelnuts. Very classic PM/M nose. Intensely mineral. Glorious palate with more of the same plus the oily texture of Grand Cru WB. Long saline infused lemon oil to the finish and a nutty finale. Glorious wine. (1748 views)
Tasted by Jlinfield on 2/20/2021 & rated 92 points: Vibrant citrus and minerality on the nose lead to more of the same on the palate. This wine is still quite youthful and energetic, with palpable tension and not the slightest hint of premox. A fine example of Clos de la Mouchere. (1881 views)
Tasted by weezie on 1/15/2021 & rated 93 points: From 375ml bottle, PnP’d. Crisp, fresh, citrusy and layered. Beautifully balanced with creaminess, a touch of oak, butter countered with lemon, mineral and, especially, saline character. Paired exceptionally well with seared halibut with a lemon dill buerre blanc sauce. Truly wonderful. Clos de la Mouchére delivers again! (1674 views)
Tasted by Louvin on 7/27/2020 & rated 93 points: from 375, basically pnp and drank over an hour. This is one of the more complex and interesting '08's I've had going back 6 years or so. So complex with fresh lemon and honey notes mixed the the sulfur/gun flint/petrol notes of older wines. So unique and at this age so remarkable. Other vintages I've been drinking, namely '09, have nothing on this. Only to say the Mouchere is the only Boillot wine in the '09's to be drinkable now. Enjoy this now. (2014 views)
Tasted by devraj on 7/19/2020 & rated 93 points: Opened with significant trepidation as the previous bottle opened in June was premoxed. Deep yellow-gold in color. Slightly advanced aromas of butterscotch quickly gives way to orchard pit fruit marmalade, orange-yellow citrus oils, toasted nuts, honeysuckle and florals. Medium bodied palate is on point showing ripe and honeyed yellow peaches and nectarines, good balance of acidity & sweet fruit, hint of mint, florals and a very long lip smacking finish. Despite issues, I keep buying this wine every year (and other H. Boillot white burgs!). This one delivered. (1677 views)
Tasted by winelover1808 on 7/18/2020 flawed bottle: sadly very corked. :( (1687 views)
Tasted by devraj on 6/13/2020 & rated 87 points: Deep yellow in color. Premox aromas that show hints of tropical fruits, lime and minerals. Could drink a glass or two.... (1614 views)
Tasted by NYC_Maenad on 4/3/2020: Popped and poured into Riedel vinum burgundy stems. Served at first a little too cold since we only decided late in the evening to open another bottle. Even too cold this hit me like the one big wave the knocks you over after an hour of jumping over the small ones. My lord what a beautiful nose! All full of white flowers and white peaches and savory pastry dough and do I detect a tiny touch of mint? It was voluptuous in the mouth, especially when it warmed up a bit, with a creaminess along the edges that almost had me smacking my lips like a cartoon character. There's still a touch of oak signature, but it's part of a nice framing structure, not an overlay, and the acid is so on point that you don't at all care about the touch of wood. This is an emotional wine, when it's clean, with its own unique character. 2008 is the oldest vintage I have left now, as I started drinking up my older bottles more quickly when premox started showing up. This '08 was nearly as good as the best '01s and '02s I had back in their day. The only white burgundy I still buy in every vintage despite it all. (2124 views)
Tasted by sjwshiraz on 2/18/2020: Advanced. A few shades darker than the Pillot Clos St Marc drink alongside. Bruised apples and faint sherry notes. Another poor Boillot, a producer in denial even now. (1775 views)
Tasted by NickA on 1/20/2020 & rated 91 points: Vinous London dinner, January 2020 (La Trompette): Took a while to open up but had a lovely nose with time, with crystallised fruit, smoke and later on vanilla and popcorn. Slightly savoury, with a nice chew to it and good length. Overall a good wine but poor value, and lacked the impact for a higher score. (2218 views)
Tasted by sjwshiraz on 1/12/2020: Not poxed. Very fresh. White flowers and a beautifully streak of minerality. (1816 views)
Tasted by The Guzz on 1/5/2020 flawed bottle: POXED (1709 views)
Tasted by llink on 12/27/2019 & rated 88 points: Deep yellow/golden color. The nose shows advanced, primarily lemon spice and butterscotch. Medium weight palate, pretty flat without much energy or acidity. Disappointing. (1577 views)
Tasted by chablis28 on 11/29/2019 & rated 95 points: Same Btl as R&Rler and my wine of the lunch. The color was slightly dark for even an 11yr old white Burg but the wine itself was in excellent shape. I lapped this wine up! It was concentrated and loaded with lip smacking minerality, citrus and stone fruit and some intriguing light herb notes. This was most compelling btl today amongst the 3 other terrific wines we shared. (2060 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
