Tasted by 831900_ on 5/12/2024 flawed bottle: Too much Brett to enjoy, but a lot to like around it. (172 views)
Tasted by Oldmanzin on 4/7/2024 & rated 95 points: Dark fruit, new leather, tilled soil combine with the well integrated oak. Great depth and texture. The aromatics are singing nicely. Year in year out, this Napa Cabernet delivers at a high level. This has at least ten years of great drinking in its future. Great juice. (976 views)
Tasted by Weaver74 on 1/6/2024 & rated 95 points: Even better than the 2005 I tried last month. Decanted 2 hours and enjoyed throughout the evening. Easily in its drinking window and has alot of legs left (1690 views)
Tasted by Mallards on 12/31/2023 & rated 93 points: Tried to decant for 2 hours, but wifey got impatient. Opened up nicely after about 3 hours. We have properly cared for this wine, and would recommend that you drink it now. (1370 views)
Tasted by greedy on 10/14/2023 & rated 99 points: The best. Always my fave wine. These aged are so good (2006 views)
Tasted by no oak on 9/1/2023 & rated 91 points: A smooth drinking wine that was well balanced on the palate. Cinnamon and nutmeg dominated both the nose and palate, but not much else. The bold cabernet fruit characteristics of this wine did not shine through as well as I recall in earlier vintages. No secondary or tertiary characteristics yet. Hold. (1937 views)
Tasted by stuartwh on 7/30/2023 & rated 97 points: Great wine. Still had good fruit but had gained so much depth from again. Still would have 5-10 years left (1818 views)
Tasted by Somm David T on 7/15/2023 & rated 94 points: Ruby, ripe, bright fruit florals. Blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum, boysenberries, dark cherries, haunting blue fruits, poached strawberries, dry cranberries, black tea with mid fruit, anise, mid to dark spice for days, some pepper, cinnamon stick, nutmeg, vanilla, light, dark raisins, older tobacco, new leather, light graphite, crushed rocks/limestone, dry top soil, dark rich soil with dry leaves, chewy leather, slight mint, dry herbs, fresh to slightly withering red, dark, blue florals framed in violets. Acidity is magnificence, well structured, balanced, 50-50 fruit and soft earth finish that lasts minutes. (1520 views)
Tasted by actx on 3/31/2023 & rated 95 points: One of my favorites. Has many more years left. Great tannins, full nose of berry, cedar and slight vanilla. Some musty leave smell from the glass (very pleasant). (2160 views)
Tasted by jonboy74 on 3/26/2023 & rated 94 points: In a fantastic spot. WotN by most of the table. Fully integrates tannins, lovely dark fruit, medium plus body, no sense of ovet extraction or too much oak. Just an fantastically balanced napa cab. Drank well without food. These went fast at the table (1699 views)
Tasted by Kavine on 3/19/2023 & rated 92 points: Took a while to soften, Sat in a decanter for 1 1/2 hours. Only at the end did we feel the roundness. Kept half the bottle for 2 days and enjoyed it more. Slight Bordeaux style though the Napa Cab boldness was prominent. (1666 views)
Tasted by greedy on 3/19/2023 & rated 95 points: Flawless as always No sigh of fading. My experience with pr is it will get better from here. 20 years is the sweet spot (1683 views)
Tasted by Shay.Aldriedge on 2/11/2023 & rated 94 points: I’ve had a fair amount of either 5-7yr old PR or 20-30yr old PR, but never one in-between. I was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable this was, and seems to be drinking at peak (but certainly not fading, at least this example).

Pop and pour. Deep purple with no fading. Couldn’t believe how Bordeaux-esque this smelled! Wow. Kiss of brett to it, just enough to make it interesting. Brambly black fruits, leather, herbs de Provence, vanilla pipe tobacco too. Supremely well balanced on the palate…baked dark fruits in a dense but tantalizingly elegant profile. Integrated oak in the background. Sweet tannin on the finish. Followed over two days and stayed strong. If I could find more of these at a good price, I’d jump on them. (1649 views)
Tasted by scotty_b on 12/25/2022 & rated 92 points: A delicate wine with lots of subtle character and balance. Easy drinker on Christmas, but no real raves from the party. Because everything was in place, nothing really stood out to make it special. Lacked fruit power and seems to be fading. (1397 views)
Tasted by levinml on 12/24/2022 & rated 92 points: I don't know. Opened Dec. 23 and finished Xmas Eve. Enjoyed first night open, but second night seemed like flavors out of line. May have been me and all the Xmas eve food. (1256 views)
Tasted by rocknroller on 12/24/2022 & rated 91 points: Very dark red/purple color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour with our beef dinner. Opened this for Christmas Eve dinner for my family. Didn't spend a lot time with it. Dark bruised fruit, plum, black cherry, black berry, five spice, port like, pepper, full bodied, but seems to be lurking near the edge. Saved some for a closer look tomorrow. (1497 views)
Tasted by Ranjan on 12/24/2022 & rated 95 points: Graphite, old world. Very long smooth finish. (1184 views)
Tasted by EdKz@comcast.net on 12/5/2022 & rated 91 points: Black fruits, tea & tobacco touch, old world style balance, resolved tannins, mild acid, medium finish, minimal complexity; poor qpr (1516 views)
Tasted by pmarlo on 11/18/2022 & rated 92 points: Cork pulled good, no infiltration, deeply dark purple stain, and cork slightly soft. No bouquet all all upon opening. Opened at 3pm. Tasted pretty decent.
Two days later, there is absolutely no fruit. The mouth feel is decent but fruit went poof. Wine should be opened now, with a short decant, and possibly in one sitting. A good many reviewers indicate bringer is age worthy, but my experience says should be consumed in 10-15 year window. (1125 views)
Tasted by BigBoy_Sonoma on 10/22/2022 & rated 98 points: Showing exceptional well, black fruit, blue fruit, cedar, leather, pepper, casssi finishes well balanced. A+ (1604 views)
Tasted by ekirby on 10/2/2022 & rated 92 points: Nice cab with dusty, tannins almost completely resolved but starting to dry out. Decanted for about an 1.5 hours, enjoyed for several hours, but seems on the backside now. (1613 views)
Tasted by stuartwh on 9/1/2022: Primland trip (1790 views)
Tasted by OenophilistMN on 8/18/2022 & rated 94 points: Identical as my notes of 12-20-21 and 4-25-2022. (701 views)
Tasted by ekirby on 6/6/2022 & rated 93 points: Decanted using screened aerating funnel into flat bottomed decanter at noon. Started to sip at 5:30, nice cassis and red dust, good balance, and fairly deep but limited complexity. Wonderful with simple Waygu steak dinner with round tannins and soft acidity. Continued to evolve until 9PM, by then it was very soft, round and full with very deep black fruits and fully integrated with tannins, fruit, minerality and acidity melded into one. (2292 views)
Tasted by OenophilistMN on 4/25/2022 & rated 94 points: Identical service and notes from 12-20-2021. Simply excellent. (2306 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
