 Tasted by David_T on 1/14/2014 & rated 87 points: Notes of kumquat, kiwi and a touch of petrol on the nose. The palate features notes of kumquat, kiwi and a hint of apricot. Interesting wine, dry overall, probably at its peak now... good complexity and certainly interesting to try. (3554 views)

Exotic notes of melon, pineapple, white peach somehow mingle with zesty citrus flavors. An overwhelmingly delicious experience from Randall Grahm's Biodynamic vineyard.  Tasted by viejo322 on 8/5/2012 & rated 90 points: Tasted 2nd time since 2010 and has held up well perhaps more intense than two years ago. Nice yellow color. Beautiful floral perfumed nose with white melon and orange blossom which echoes on the palate along with grapefruit pith, lemon zest, and very faint bread crust. Mouthwatering acidity and impressive minerality. The mouthfeel is luxurious smooth and rich. The sweetness is off dry and balanced. Finish is of lemon oil and bitter lemon. Muscat can be amazingly complex and I would drink this wine just for the aroma but it has so much more. Alas I hear that this vineyard in Soledad is no more. (5087 views)

 Tasted by Jason Rzutkiewicz on 2/9/2011: (12.7%) 98% Yellow Muscat, 2% Loureiro (Loureiro is typical to Vinho Verde in Portugal) – Let’s just get it on the table right away. This wine is (thankfully in my case) not sweet. Nor is it made with your typical Muscat grape. Light, translucent yellow in the glass and… Wow! What a nose! This wine just might be made for sniffing rather than drinking. Floral and perfumed with notes of orange blossom and honey all with a slight underlying oiliness. Reminds of running on a warm spring night when all the flowers are abloom. Crisp with nice acidity on entry with more floral notes appearing on the edges and working themselves towards the center to meet with white peach/nectarine flavors that carry on to the finish which is fading and pleasant. Not a style I want to drink often but certainly one I can appreciate and enjoy. Interesting as an appertif this one will go even better with food.

Bonny Doon was sold in early 2020 to "WarRoom", a wine production and marketing entity formed in 2018. Per a January 2020 Decanter article - https://www.decanter.com/wine-news/californias-bonny-doon-sold-430550/ - "Graham will retain creative control of Bonny Doon’s wines, but production will change from 35,000 cases of 15 different wines annually to just four wines: the flagship red Rhône blend Le Cigare Volant; Le Cigare Blanc (based on Vermentino); Vin Gris de Cigare (a Rhône varietal rosé); and a 100% Picpoul."
