Tasted by michigan dogs on 8/5/2015 & rated 93 points: Mike made strip steaks, JA was perfect. Smooth, balanced, no tannins, fruit not as prominant as before, wine has probably hit it's peak. (4484 views)
Tasted by Val D'Orcia on 5/31/2014 & rated 94 points: Very lush and explosive with raspberry and cedar flavos. Well rounded, soft mouthfeel and long complex finish. Delicious! (5341 views)
Tasted by dlcass on 8/23/2013 & rated 91 points: fruit forward, drinking well. Nice nose. (6306 views)
Tasted by cigar52 on 8/14/2013 & rated 92 points: Decanted for 3 hours. Wonderfully balanced with deep red fruit and hints of chocolate. (5704 views)
Tasted by timdrex on 6/11/2013 & rated 92 points: Elegant wine with silky tannins, although it lacks some structure because the tannins are somewhat subdued. Great wine to drink without food. Drinks well right after popping the cork. (4485 views)
Tasted by Surfdoc on 6/1/2013 & rated 93 points: Luscious black currant flavor. Ripe, fruity character with great structure, but not an over extracted "fruit-bomb". Smooth, medium tannins and a touch of oak round out the finish. Very yummy wine! (4125 views)
Tasted by mardan899 on 5/2/2013 & rated 94 points: PNP thru venturi then decanted. Wow!! just simply amazing, well integrated tannins with a touch of mocha at the finish. This wine totally shocked me. Drinks like a $100+ Napa cab. definitely buying more!!! Will be taking some to wine tasting party on Saturday. (3097 views)

Tasted by CultJunkie03 on 1/25/2013 & rated 85 points: pales in comparison for an 07.. lacks complexity and depth, decent legs - ordinary nose (2175 views)
Tasted by JohnBlueLabel on 12/27/2012 & rated 94 points: Fortunately I have a bit of this and have the pleasure of tasting over time. I paired this with some prime rib that was left over from our Christmas feast, and it was sublime. Way better than the 2005 Kuleto Danielli that I had with the rib the first time. This wine strikes a gorgeous balance of fruit, earth and tannin. I'm picking up a bit of a mocha component which is present or more pronounced than on prior tastings. This is so well integrated and structured (with just a pop and pour) that it would make an ideal wine for a high end steakhouse wine list. Great nose, with dark fruit and a touch of cedar box. Lush mouthfeel with blackberry and cassis, with a nice finish with sweet tannins. I don't see it lasting past 2015, but so far in 2010, 2011 and 2012 it's drinking like a $100 bottle. Kudos John Anthony. (2465 views)
Tasted by vin0vin0 on 9/9/2012 & rated 92 points: Great cab with dark fruit, tobacco, leather, nice tannins and a great, long finish. Big steak wine that can also go with pork or a spicy seafood dish. Most excellent! (3214 views)
Tasted by JohnBlueLabel on 9/2/2012 & rated 94 points: This is drinking just beautifully. Nice aromatic nose and so well structured. The flavor and aromatic profiles remain intact, but it just seems to get silkier and smoother as time passes. Will be looking forward to the tasting at the vineyard in October. (3148 views)
Tasted by jelehane on 8/14/2012 & rated 96 points: Soft, mellow. Blackberry, cherry. Tannins are in the background. Medium nose. Good legs. (3334 views)
Tasted by Waggoner on 6/11/2012: Very pleasing dark purple color. Pleasant nose. Mild tannins and very luxurious, silky mouthfeel. Great with steak. One of the best we've ever had, on par with Far Niente. (3354 views)
Tasted by JohnBlueLabel on 4/29/2012 & rated 94 points: Beautiful nose, smooth as silk and extremely well integrated. Flavor profile is classic high end Napa Cab. Had to give it another point, it's wonderful (3351 views)
Tasted by BinVA on 2/25/2012 & rated 95 points: Brought by Jeff for dinner. Awesome cab. Rated it on par with the 07 Oakville East Exposure and higher than 07 Far Niente and 07 Vineyard 29 Cru, all consumed the same night. (3666 views)
Tasted by williamswhine on 2/19/2012 & rated 94 points: Spectacular! Can't believe this is a 2007. Dark color, well balanced, nice finish. great nose, little vanilla, smooth and velvety. Initially tried at a barrel tasting. Layers of flavor with great complexity. Gotta try this one if you can find it!! (3528 views)
Tasted by JohnW3 on 2/13/2012 & rated 90 points: Beautiful color and surprisingly smooth. Agree with other reviewers that it is a classic California cab. (3636 views)
Tasted by Hamilton1 on 11/9/2011 & rated 93 points: Outstanding. Among the best Napa Cabs at this price point. Benefits from decanting. (4253 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
