Smooth and nice fruit, no tannins. Wish I had a few more. (2284 views) | | Tasted by whinemeister on 4/17/2018 & rated 91 points: Opened on Sunday, drank half of the bottle, on the nose, earth and leather, not much fruit. On the palate, flat, certainly seemed to be on the down slope. Drank other half on Tuesday and wow, what a difference; not much change on nose, but on the palate dark berries and cherry, nicely integrated and medium/long finish....really very pleasant. Great QPR. Pity this is my last bottle. (2701 views) | | Tasted by sbfern on 2/11/2018 & rated 92 points: Holy cow this was incredible for robust fruity earth the silky still had a little bit of acid definitely ready to be consume (2833 views) | | Tasted by Bottledrainer on 9/12/2017 flawed bottle: Possibly held too long. Wine was unbalanced and a bit funky even after decanting for an hour. (3159 views) | | Tasted by Bottledrainer on 8/21/2016 & rated 89 points: Still some fruit left. Decent balance. Paired well with grilled steak. (4423 views) | | Tasted by lockestep on 12/12/2015 & rated 86 points: Seems to be fading. On initial entry it was bitter with the alcohol dominating. Harsh tannins. The wine did smooth out over the next half hour, showing as a decent but fairly plain wine. Doubt there is a future here, drink up. (3945 views) | | Tasted by Grenik on 1/3/2015 & rated 88 points: Fading fast. Good fruit, but quite soft and without character. (4674 views) | | Tasted by Xfactor on 12/23/2014 & rated 84 points: This bottle which the staff raved over at our dinner spot was a let-down. Typical notes here, but muted, tannins unnoticeable, minerality lacking. (4497 views) | | Tasted by soyhead on 10/28/2014: Been at least a year since I had this. Showing really well, quite concentrated and fruity. Superb qpr. (4688 views) | | Tasted by Grenik on 10/19/2014 & rated 89 points: Good solid cab with a nice blend of red and blue fruit. Well oaked but not overboard. Good wine to drink young. I have enjoyed other vintages more than the 2009. I think this will be short lived. (3481 views) | | Tasted by rwerner on 7/30/2014 & rated 87 points: Simple with a short finish. (3169 views) | | Tasted by bambie321 on 5/9/2014 & rated 89 points: Tasted good. Crowd pleaser at a dinner party due to its easy drinking, non-complex nature. (2387 views) | | Tasted by Thomaslba on 1/3/2014 & rated 92 points: - great nose, with lots of vanilla and carmel notes. perfect complement with a great burger (3375 views) | | Tasted by Grenik on 12/14/2013 & rated 89 points: Solid cab from a quality producer. Red and blue fruit comes through nicely. Simple in style and lacking in depth and support through the middle and finish. Good QPR though. (3086 views) | | Tasted by Vinnut on 12/5/2013 & rated 88 points: Deep, dark reddish-purple in color, Fragrant, attractive & youthful nose of dark fruits aromas of cherries, blueberries & cassis with licorice, mint, spices, some cedar notes, mocha, herbs, minerals, toasty oak and a healthy dose of vanilla. Full bodied with a good concentration of balanced, ripe dark fruit flavors of sweet cherries, boysenberries & plums with spices, some cola, cocoa, minerals, toasted oak and creamy vanilla. Lingering smooth & polished finish. Drinks quite well at present but will benefit and develop further with additional aging. (3126 views) | | Tasted by Mbressack on 10/9/2013 & rated 89 points: My first impression was that there was a big amount of fruit and medium body and overall a good cab. However, some funky taste keeps cropping up and I can't be certain if the funk adds to the character or if this wine has its problems. Most reviewers seem to like this a lot especially at the price point. Not my favorite cab and I love cab. (3260 views) | | Tasted by soyhead on 6/26/2013 & rated 89 points: limited notes - cola, coffee, red candied cherry (3905 views) | | Tasted by Cmhaggar on 4/27/2013 & rated 88 points: - Crimsom color and aromas of raisin and black currant. It's balanced and has flavours of raisin and strawberry jam with a medium body. Round texture with a medium finish. (3764 views) | | Tasted by WhereWineHow on 4/26/2013 & rated 89 points: Solid example of a Cab from a hot area of California. Fruity but balanced. (3515 views) | | Tasted by TashNYC on 3/28/2013 & rated 90 points: In Phoenix, AZ. With outdoor bbq. Tasty wine (1025 views) | | Tasted by VintageSully on 3/2/2013 & rated 87 points: A solid, if uninspired, effort.
Garnet/Ruby in color with aromas of strawberry, raisin and cassis. Medium-bodied and fruit forward, showing flavors of red and blue fruit with that typical raisiny Paso Robles accent and a touch of vanilla. There was also an earthy (almost dirty) component that kept popping up to say hello that I found to be a little out of place. The finish was somewhat short and a touch hot.
I am usually a fan of Justin Cab and find it to be a solid QPR, but this, in my opinion, was not the vineyard's best expression. (1414 views) | | Tasted by DanielJ on 2/27/2013 & rated 90 points: Nice flavor ... a little on the cherry side ... not much tannin ... and a little bit of funk that made it kind of interesting (4331 views) | | Tasted by Roostovino on 2/25/2013 & rated 89 points: Very good Paso Robles wine. 89+ (3728 views) | | Tasted by JPLogan on 2/23/2013 & rated 90 points: solid wine, very smooth (2989 views) | | Tasted by cestes on 1/26/2013 & rated 90 points: Adding my second tasting note. About six months has passed and I've been looking for good QPR during this time. The Justin Cab fits the bill. For the price, this is a great bottle. The nose has a wonderful hint of vanilla. Good fruit and well balanced finish. I'll keep buying it! (3085 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |

| Justin Vineyards & Winery Producer websiteCabernet SauvignonCabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet SauvignonUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
