Tasted by Veg on 2/25/2017: Drinking very well. Pretty powerful stuff - a little rugged but not a bad drop at all (709 views)
Tasted by mikerawly on 5/22/2016: 15% sweet, full bodied, beautiful. Had with neck of lamb stew, really good. (845 views)
Tasted by Crispin on 2/15/2016 & rated 89 points: Settling into a lovely wine. Dark but with brick edges developing. Forest floor, damp nose. Fruit balanced and complex. Will keep growing over next few years. (851 views)
Tasted by Crispin on 10/23/2015 & rated 90 points: Drinking beautifully. (886 views)
Tasted by Veg on 4/12/2015 & rated 90 points: Very nice. Ready to drink, full bodied and smooth. (507 views)
Tasted by Crispin on 4/12/2015 & rated 89 points: Tasty rhone (1002 views)
Tasted by Crispin on 6/15/2014 & rated 90 points: Dark cherries. Spice. Balanced and long. Settled into a lovely wine. Sure will improve or change over next three to five years but drinking beautifully now. (712 views)
Tasted by derekjohn on 3/16/2014 & rated 89 points: Nose of licquorice, Agen prunes and geraniums. Smooth, just coming together. (647 views)
Tasted by Crispin on 1/26/2014 & rated 88 points: Lovely. Needed a few hours opened and decant to open up. Tannin still a little dry but lovely forward fruit and hints of leather and wood. Will be gorgeous as years go by. Sure it has ten years life in it through different stages of life. (558 views)
Tasted by Ddebellotte on 4/19/2013 & rated 89 points: Still young but very palatable mon the less. (840 views)
Tasted by mmh on 3/20/2012 & rated 88 points: Too young, obviously, but i'm not sure this will become as great as the 2007. It does have wonderful dark fruit and licqourice, but lacks a bit minerality and freshness compared to 2007. Will definitely improve, though. (1111 views)

Red Rhone Blend

Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines
On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. Typically it's the Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre or Cinsault grapes, but can also contain the Muscardin, Counoise, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Picpoul, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Picardan or Vaccarese grapes.

A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce.
