| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.8 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by ziavino on 12/3/2023 & rated 92 points: Notes of fig, raisin, and black cherry lead the way on the nose and palate, with brooding tannins flexing throughout. A bit of heat too. Hints of crushed walnuts emerge late and linger on the medium-long finish. (331 views) | | Tasted by KL1975 on 11/12/2022 & rated 92 points: Consistent with prior notes, very good. (809 views) | | Tasted by Henman on 9/2/2022 & rated 93 points: From a 375ml bottle. Vibrant nose of figs and raisins, some chocolate. Full bodied, sweet, smooth and tasty, showing loads of figs and raisins, a bit chocolate and slightly oxidative notes with a long lingering finish. A darn delicious tawny port. (761 views) | | Tasted by KL1975 on 2/15/2022 & rated 92 points: Very stable over three weeks, plum, cherries, chocolate, oxidized notes, a bit alcoholic heat in the finish (992 views) | | Tasted by Vanja1 on 1/7/2021 & rated 93 points: Portvin & jul = sant og har vært det i snart 25 år her i huset.
E como alguém uma vez disse, Portugal precisava de mais Port BlendOver a hundred varieties of grapes (castas) are sanctioned for port production, although only five (Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Francesa, and Touriga Nacional) are widely cultivated and used. - Mayson (1999), Port and the Douro, p. 93
ColheitaThis colheita was aged in small oak barrels for three years in a warm corrugated steel-roofed warehouse to caramelize the sugars and to further concentrate its flavors through evaporation.Portugal ViniPortugal (Associação Interprofissional para a Promoção dos Vinhos Portugueses/Portuguese Wine Trade Association)Douro Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e PortoPorto For The Love of Port is an essential site on the wines of Porto and Madeira.
