Tasted by WaiCellar on 7/28/2023 & rated 95 points: Queen of Meursault indeed. So well balanced, fresh and elegant almost 20 years since bottling. Reminds me of an outstanding Corton Charlemagne (310 views)
Tasted by jkoenen on 11/20/2022 & rated 97 points: Rich, opulent, decadent.
Caramel, gunflint, baconfat, nectarine, lemonoil. (586 views)
Tasted by Zweder on 11/20/2022 & rated 96 points: Beautiful and complex bouquet with caramel and well integrated oak. On the palate white and yellow fruits, butter, vanilla, full bodied and enormously concentrated, extremely beautiful and a great length. (773 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 9/27/2022 & rated 94 points: A private dinner (Restaurant d'Oude Schuur, Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium): Tasted blind. Elegance and gentle evolution, fully mature and perfectly fresh, white pepper, traditional style, honeyed and rounded, power and weight balanced by firm acidity, real drive and length. (1458 views)
Tasted by hprphf on 5/24/2021 & rated 95 points: Perfect provenance ex-restaurant. Earliest picked chez Lafon, not overripe at all, creamy popcorn richness backed up by superb acidity. On the palate it is huge, monstrous weight in multi-dimensions, but not too rich, just in the zone. One of the best Lafon MP tasted. 95-96 (1542 views)
Tasted by liber on 12/20/2020 & rated 88 points: Last of 6, pnp, cork spongey at bottom, perfect level, lighter than previous 2 bottles, incipient POX but not to the extent that the wine was undrinkable or even unpleasant, indeed very fine underlying depth of flavour with some youthful wax, first glass the best, seemed to oxidise immediately with contact with air, last glass the worst.......probably best to send back to Lafon and get a refund as too many of these wines from late 90s onwards are not of merchantable quality!!!!! VG (16) first glass! (1295 views)
Tasted by liber on 11/21/2020 & rated 75 points: 5th of 6 and undrinkably POXED........a disgrace for a Lafon Perrieres at less than 14 years when its best days should be ahead!!! (1283 views)
Tasted by liber on 8/20/2020 & rated 82 points: 4th of 6, opened 30 minutes, apparently perfect cork and level, even darker than last bottle, drinkable but POXy flavours now intrusive, as so often the case with white Burg moved from barely ready to POXed in less than a year, drink up! QG (14). (1243 views)
Tasted by liber on 7/23/2020 & rated 93 points: 3rd of 6, opened 30 minutes, spongey half travelled cork, perfect level, heightened colour, more vanilla, less balancing citrus zest and zip, broader and flabbier flavours, than a year ago, sense of ageing rapidly in this bottle, drink. F+ (18). (1255 views)
Tasted by vinkeger on 5/30/2020 & rated 93 points: Lys farge ved åpning, gylden gul etter å ha vært luftet på karaffel i en halvtime-time. Moden nese. Ganske old-school Meursault. Moden frukt, smør, gule blomster, hvit pepper, fat. Harmonisk i munn. Moden, myk og saftig frukt. Konsentrert. Mangler ikke syre, men den er ganske avrundet og snill. Drikker perfekt nå. Om denne ideelt sett kunne vært enda mer transparent på duft og livlig i munn, må det sies at den er utrolig imponerende for årgangen. (1139 views)
Tasted by yves charbonnier on 12/25/2019 & rated 95 points: Extraordinaire nez de miel, cire et pétrole. Bouche ample, ronde. Très longue finale (1159 views)
Tasted by Bullethead on 9/20/2019 & rated 90 points: Possible advanced / premox? Dull and weak palate/nose when opened. Much better the next day. Candy, caramel, baked dessert (1119 views)
Tasted by Sleepy Dave on 8/24/2019: J's Birthday celebration (Summer Pavilion @ Ritz Carlton): This has really lovely complex, expressive aromas of melted butter, light ginger spice, honeysuckle and ripe yellow fruits. Very good acidity entry for a 2006 with lemon, lemon oil and ripe fruits. Lovely saline complexity. Everything is great except the hollow mid palate though gaining back in life toward the finish, it is still sorta let down and didn't show the pedigree of a Perrieres. (1330 views)
Tasted by Collector1855 on 8/17/2019 flawed bottle: Meursault Perrieres blind tasting 1988-2011: This bottle had a clear oxidative touch of bruised apples as well. Should not be for such a young vintage. (2031 views)
Tasted by liber on 7/13/2019 & rated 97 points: 2nd of 6, pnp, perfect cork and level, tighter and more zip than last June's bottle, now in early maturity. VF+ (19)…..classier and more complete than previous night's PYCM Chevalier! (1218 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/29/2019 & rated 92 points: Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner with Musicians (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass, brief note. Rich stone fruit, dense and fleshy, still nicely fresh. Bright mineral textures but this isn't showing much acidity, but it's clearly there in the background, otherwise the wine could never seem this bright. (1607 views)
Tasted by liber on 6/16/2018 & rated 95 points: 1st of 6, decanted 45 minutes, perfect cork and level - mid yellow, leggy; lemon cut, nicely mineral, flowers, pear and white peach; medium, very long, concentrated and persistent, slightly blowsy richness of fruit perfectly complemented by citric lift, impressive and v young. VF (18.5)....... just edged PYCM Chevalier 06 on night and clearly a step up on the Charmes! (1569 views)
Tasted by eivindgj on 5/27/2018: 2 bottles, both preox. Been waiting too long? (1596 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 9/23/2016 & rated 93 points: Long lasting. (2534 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 4/3/2016 & rated 92 points: "This wine is very good." (2672 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 4/3/2016: deliciously oth (2694 views)
Tasted by Tim2 on 1/4/2016 & rated 90 points: Golden color, beautiful. Still good yet perhaps on the edge of going over. Drink up! (2409 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 5/18/2014 & rated 93 points: Le Serbet/ Becky Wasserman's 35th Anniversary Celebration (Château de Sully - Southern Burgundy): From magnum directly from the domaine. Ripe and tropical with lots of toasted nut, peach and baked apple. Very forward, just ever-so-slightly shorter and simpler vs the 2004 just tasted. (4588 views)
Tasted by Les Clos on 9/27/2012 & rated 89 points: beetje jong nog (3114 views)
Tasted by gorm on 12/17/2009 & rated 94 points: Uncorked DK does 2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape (Aarø & Co): Light yellow. Loads of butter and smoke together with vegetables, gunpowder, licorice and flintstone on the nose. Very intense in the mouth, but also very elegant and with a long aftertaste. a very classy Meursault. (U93,9) (4826 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
