Tasted by jhngo on 3/26/2023 & rated 93 points: fresh clean with a little parama finish. (377 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 10/8/2022 & rated 92 points: Matchsticks nose classic burgundy profile (513 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 2/22/2021 flawed bottle: Oxd (812 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 6/29/2020 & rated 95 points: Flashy fun and delicious. Love the energy in the wine. (888 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 6/21/2020 & rated 89 points: Final bottle from a full case purchased in 2010, which has provided lots of pleasure - mixed with some disappointments. This bottle seems oxidised at first - also because of the golden colour - but ultimately it proves sound. It feels tired however and is clearly at the very end of its drinking plateau, with notes of apple and honey, peach and toasted almonds. Long in the tooth, even if there still is some creamy lemon and steely acidity on the palate to remind us of better days. Not bad, but we did not finish it. (1601 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 7/31/2019 & rated 90 points: Burgundy Dinner with Friends (S.K.Y. Restaurant - Chicago IL): Peach and apple aromas and flavors with some honeycomb and toasted almond notes. Good weight and length, this is probably nearing the end of its peak drinking window as its freshness is starting to fade. (1607 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 10/26/2018 & rated 91 points: Fully mature, clearly recognisable as a Puligny Premier Cru, with its innate character of flowers and steel and citrus, but at this stage perhaps not with the ultimate finesse of a great Pucelles anymore. The effortless magic seems gone, and the oak has a rough edge on the finish. Good rather than great. One bottle left. (1266 views)
Tasted by Warren23 on 10/29/2017 & rated 92 points: Excellent again. Great mouth feel, with very good balance, long finish and notes of oak and pear. 92-93. I think this wine is drinking perfectly right now, and I would not wait to drink. Too much risk of premox or going over-the-hill. (1317 views)
Tasted by Warren23 on 10/15/2017 & rated 92 points: Much better than the first bottle. More verve, with great mouth feel and good acid. Notes of white flower, oak and pear. Good depth. (1230 views)
Tasted by pwillen1 on 8/1/2017: in a perfect place. still lots of tension but very expressive. (1655 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 5/2/2017 & rated 94 points: Drinking beautifully. Matchsticks fragrant fruit. (1410 views)
Tasted by Warren23 on 4/23/2017 & rated 89 points: Surprising, not in a good way. Good, not great. Not as approachable as most Pernot wines I have had - more halting quality mid-palate, with toasty and floral notes. 89-90. (1066 views)
Tasted by jhngo on 1/30/2017 & rated 91 points: Great balance of minerality and body. Really tasty. Slightly sweet finish. (885 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 1/28/2017 flawed bottle: Oxidised. (1241 views)
Tasted by David Paris (dbp) on 7/14/2016 & rated 91 points: Lovely sweet preserved lemons on the beautiful nose. Really nice entry, with a soft, creamy lusciousness that overtakes the palate, showing an overall elegant presence despite the flavors being a little mellow. Light lemon, but overall all notes feel real and pure. Elegant. Slight oak note on the finish, then tart, mellow acid. Again, great intensity on the finish here. (903 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 5/7/2016 & rated 93 points: After two less than convincing bottles, this one is positively singing. Classic Pucelles profile, with the typical silkiness of the vineyard, relaxed and flowing, displays the ripe fruit of the vintage and a hint of rusticity in the oak on the finish. At peak. (1442 views)
Tasted by nba1017 on 3/15/2016 & rated 92 points: Xavier's notes below capture what I was able to finesse out of a single bottle of this. The precision isn't quite there, but it's lush, well-made, and balanced. Tension between a flinty/salty quality and stone fruit on the nose, with baked peach, brown butter, and dark honey mid-palate and a green fruit skin finish tying it up nicely. A bit short. Good puligny. Interesting. Not at the almost grand cru level as I've experienced with other vintages, but very good wine nonetheless.

Paired with foie gras mousse and assorted cheeses.

EDIT: As this opens up, a definite saline/crustacean quality emerges on the finish. I can only describe it as the smell you get from very fresh head-on prawns. I'm not sure I could distinguish this from top-quality grand cru les clos chablis. (1148 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/12/2015 & rated 91 points: Needs a little time to open up. Clearly a complete and solid Pucelles of very good intensity, with ripe fruit and well-integrated (if slightly rustic) oak, but slightly woolly and without the finesse, precision and excitement that other vintages of this wine have shown. Initially there is a rough edge to the slighty uneven finish, but this disappears with some aeration. (1344 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 12/26/2014 & rated 90 points: Not as keen on this as on the previous two occasions. Colour seems a bit deep, the nose is not very communicative and the palate comes across as firm but rather monolithic and quite oaky. A solid Puligny, but lacks the excitement that this wine is capable of. Probably a less than perfect bottle. (1866 views)
Tasted by pwillen1 on 12/25/2014: Pours a gorgeous liquid gold color. Smells of freshly cut cipollini onions then turmeric. As it opens, more and deeper curry notes, then lilacs and white flowers, honeysuckle. Gains weight with air. Really gorgeous wine with an expansive nose that delivers on the promise on the palate. Long finish.

Paired with Rabbit Vin Santo (1602 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 6/22/2014 & rated 93 points: This wine is all about subtlety, elegance, style and poise; harmonious but with excellent intensity and salty minerality, flowers and oak, great finesse and drinkability, lovely length. Very attractive, at peak. (1636 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/16/2014 & rated 91 points: Paul Pernot Featured at the Lieu-dit Cru Blind White Burgundy Dinner (L2O - Chicago IL): Single blind in Pernot Pucelles vertical. One notch below the 2008 also in the flight, but leaner, more tense and requiring more cellar time. (2357 views)
Tasted by Mivvy on 4/11/2014: A touch developed. Mid gold colour. Broad nose of stone fruit, grapefruit. Intense and long on the palate, stone fruit, a touch tropical, some nuts and acidity cutting through keeping it intense and fresh. Long finish. Very good. (1412 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 2/7/2013 & rated 93 points: VinoLaprisco Tasting (Restaurant De Karpendonkse Hoeve *, Eindhoven, Netherlands): A wine of poise, elegance and breed; intense yet elegant, powerful but light on its feet; excellent length. (2086 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 9/23/2012 & rated 92 points: Classic Puligny and a good Pucelles too but seems to lack the exquisite intensity and energy of e.g. the 1999 or the 2000. (1918 views)

Rockss and Fruit (5/14/2008)
(Paul Pernot Puligny-Montachet 1er Cru "Pucelles") Floral and mineral nose leads to a painfully intense and concentrated palate. Long and spicey. Lovely sap that gets to every nook and cranny of the palate. Inner mouth energy is great. A six star wine in my humble book. ;)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
