Tasted by yatchisin on 7/7/2017 & rated 88 points: We probably held too long on this one but it still has that Turley character, jut a bit faded and perhaps muddied, if that makes sense. Jammy fruit, herbs, spice. (1205 views)
Tasted by jdjjadair on 10/22/2013 & rated 90 points: Very soft at this point. Still holding structure but don't wait. (2492 views)
Tasted by cultdrinker on 8/24/2011 & rated 94 points: Drinking beautifully now. Rich red fruits and a tinge of black pepper, vanilla, and traditional Turley spices on the backside. Purple reddish color with an aftertaste that lasts for a good minute. Went well with grilled chicken sausage, filled with sun dried tomatoes and garlic. My only complaint is that Larry only put 750 ml of this goddess in the 750 ml bottle. Ha ha. To those who monitor my ratings, I tend to rate my Turley's high but I've been drinking probably on the average of 1 1/2 bottles a week for the last 12 or so years and with limited exceptions have yet to find a better Zin.  Tasted by guitarguy on 5/14/2011 & rated 91 points: Moderately red, not terribly deep, just beyond Oregon Pinot but not showing any age or browning. Drinking really nice right now, nose of spicy zinberry and freshly scraped cooperage. Flavors include raspberry, pepper, oak and ripe fruit. Moderate tannin pop. Need to drink soon, I think the fruit is starting to fade and the tannins are still pretty noticeable. (3163 views)
Tasted by MCUBEB on 3/21/2011 & rated 91 points: Nose of red fruits and earth. The palate has red and black fruit which is framed by nice acidity. Finish is long with some vanilla, chocolate and cream coming through. Nice balance to the wine specially with 15.5% alc. Drinking well now and should last for few more years. (3290 views)
Tasted by btock on 8/4/2010 & rated 90 points: Good spicy zin. Paired with smoked ribs and it doesn't get much better. The Peay Syrah that was its partner had more deep purple flavor to counteract the rub on the ribs, but the Tofanelli had a classic profile and light mouthfeel. I know the '05 Turley's have been questioned but I'm getting good results. Really liked the Old Vines recently and now this one hit the mark. (2514 views)
Tasted by golfwine on 3/18/2010 & rated 86 points: Typical Turley. A noticeable amount of intrigue though clearly lacking any "Wow" factor. The highlights of this wine were the aromatics - at one point, emulating chocolate/mocha covered wild raspberries. Uncharacteristically but pleasantly jammy. The only real fault being a tart acidity that somewhat obstructed the decent, medium-long finish. (1426 views)
Tasted by dmcord on 3/18/2010: Opened and drank with Pizza. Wine did need to warm up a bit after being pulled directly from wine refrigerator. Was a nice tasting Zin, but a bit acidity on the finish. (1811 views)
Tasted by Cheryl on 2/9/2010: February 2010 Tasting - Zinfandel (NYC Tasting Group - John's Home): Some dirt on the nose and spice as well that blew off and eventually grew on me. (1983 views)
Tasted by awise45 on 1/9/2010 & rated 90 points: Very nice, full and rich; great with tomato-based sauce surprisingly. (1414 views)
Tasted by D.Callahan on 11/22/2009 & rated 91 points: Spice, smoke and black cherry on the nose. Earthy dark fruits, spice, good amount of acid with a touch of tangy tanins on the palate. (1478 views)
Tasted by danseng on 3/9/2009 & rated 88 points: Nice wine, but not much better than the cheaper Old Vines. (1662 views)
Tasted by Chasse on 11/6/2008: brought to NJMP track event (2184 views)
Tasted by ddarienzo on 12/15/2007: D liked it; C slightly disappointed (2263 views)
Tasted by Thralow on 11/29/2007 & rated 91 points: Even the least expensive Turley's always seem to be at least outstanding. (2286 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
