Tasted by winelover1808 on 6/2/2013 & rated 89 points: love this wine but this is a bit past its peak. still very enjoyable but not as much fruit and floral high notes as prior bottles I have had. (3805 views)
Tasted by bcmatthias on 5/4/2013 & rated 91 points: Very nice. Honey and citrus notes. Rich viognier. (3593 views)
Tasted by Wino from Michigan on 3/8/2013: Very good -- ready to drink -- more buttery than other Viongiers (3694 views)
Tasted by Mark H. LeQuire on 1/25/2013 & rated 94 points: Regrettably, last bottle. Nine months since our last taste, and, it still defines a Viognier. No flaws, no sediment. Great structure. Beautiful citrus fruit nose. Low alcohol taste. Medium finish. Just perfect. Plenty of bottle life left (4102 views)
Tasted by Amerique on 12/8/2012 & rated 92 points: Buttery, vanillin oak flavors, very clean (3944 views)
Tasted by wbe3 on 11/10/2012 & rated 90 points: smooth and tasty but not as crisp as I hoped. (1243 views)
Tasted by Brian Love on 7/16/2012 & rated 86 points: Oily and floral - although some flab as it just doesn't have the cut I would expect from this varietal. Expensive for what you get. I think the note that says oily, rich and tropical sums it up; the question is whether this style is what you prefer or not. (1700 views)
Tasted by Pinot Evil on 7/15/2012 & rated 89 points: Viscous honeysuckle, a very nice wine. (1938 views)
Tasted by unrelenting on 5/4/2012 & rated 90 points: nice nose of honey suckle and apple jolly rancher but quite hot. Decent structure but I prefer more complexity in my viognier. Paired well with sushi (better than viognier should) but there are better examples of the varietal for half the price. (1792 views)
Tasted by Mark H. LeQuire on 4/27/2012 & rated 94 points: In my beloved's own words: "That's beautiful". (1646 views)
Tasted by Neuman on 4/20/2012: Paired with a veal chop and basil butter. Basil and orange popped with the combo.Perfect

Tasted by drrobvino on 2/7/2012 & rated 92 points: Nice moderate yellow color. 14.7% abv. The nose is extremely floral, with lychee and pears over honey and white pepper spice. The wine has gorgeous purity on the palate, with rich, honeyed lychee fruit and a spiciness that is supported by superb acidity, lending to the fabulous, medium-length, mineral laden finish. Has another 1-2 years left on this great Viognier. (1794 views)
Tasted by drrobvino on 1/7/2012 & rated 92 points: A deeper gold color gives way to a mineral-infused and floral nose of lychee and peach. The nose is interesting and lovely, I could sniff it over and over. In the mouth, this gorgeous wine opens with white fruits of melon and peach, followed by a chalkiness or gravel-like characteristic. The wine is rich and supple through the mid palate, at the risk of being overripe or flabby...but then from nowhere comes a perfectly balanced acidity ushering in a wonderfully executed finish that lasts over 30 seconds. The wine is lovely, and with the rich flavors and crisp-ish finish, will go with a wide variety of foods. It should continue to drink well another year or two...a marvelous Viognier. (1835 views)
Tasted by Paulwill on 12/28/2011: Not as good as the Virginia viogniers. (1682 views)
Tasted by Scharin on 11/26/2011 & rated 91 points: Unique tasting Viognier. Lots of buttery oak that mixed nicely with the floral and light tropical notes in the wine (1995 views)
Tasted by J-Sho on 7/20/2011 & rated 90 points: Deep golden color. Nose with buttered popcorn, peachy/lemon zest, and orange creamsicle. Typical viogner oiliness and palate wrapping with very soft feel. Mild astringency on finish. Overall a beautiful effort. (2342 views)
Tasted by Gargamel on 5/23/2011 & rated 92 points: no formal notes. decanted this wine for about one hour, but it was still too cold upon serving. initially was intensely buttery without oaky bitterness. after another hour, it started to open up and the typical, late arriving acidity i find common in dumol wines, started to really liven it up. tropical fruit is the base of this wine, but it was less crisp than the dumol chardonnays i have had. i would suggest serving at around 60 degrees, with a few hours of decanting.  Tasted by MJTed on 5/18/2011 & rated 90 points: Oily, rich and tropical. Pineapple and peach complemented by a big floral nose. Nice acidity and spicy finish. (2505 views)
Tasted by slmshdyms on 5/5/2011 & rated 90 points: Agree with Stoneb on everything but the numerical score. a very interesting wine that een got the attention of a few non-white drinkers at the table. good match with spicy sushi (yet again!) (2779 views)
Tasted by stoneb on 4/21/2011 & rated 92 points: Golden yellow color. Bright floral nose. Beautiful tropical fruit and wildflower/honey on the palate in layers of flavor. Medium weight with a fairly long finish. All the freshness and complexity of a white CNdP without the funk. I don't know how well this will age, but who cares given how good it is now. Delicious; wish I had more. (2576 views)
Tasted by bwilcox on 1/24/2011: Nice, expectedly fruity, but not painfully fruit forward. Despite descriptions, not too full for light fare; excellent apertiff. (3101 views)
Tasted by michael47 on 11/23/2010 & rated 90 points: Lovely glass of wine and perfect as aperitif. Proably too heavy with food. Heady nose of flowers and tropical fruit which repeats itself in the mouth with good acidity, lot of weight and viscosity. Interesting bitterness on the finish. Don't think you want to let this wine sit around and get old. (3056 views)
Tasted by slywka7 on 5/17/2010 & rated 92 points: Tons of tropical fruit flavors and a very light body. A very complex viognier and a perfect hot weather wine. (813 views)

Viognier

Viogner is wrong wine

This is nonsense.

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
