Tasted by Doc Argyle on 11/3/2012 & rated 92 points: Velvety, but still with slight tannins for strength. Fruity flavors diminished from youth but great balance. (4687 views)
Tasted by pdicorpo on 9/16/2012 & rated 92 points: deep, rich, fantastic! (4213 views)
Tasted by golfhawk on 10/12/2011 & rated 83 points: Not a bad wine but has a vegetal nose and a bit of a vegetal mid palate. Has a good finish that seems to linger. (6119 views)
Tasted by jmotta on 9/11/2011 & rated 83 points: Very pleasant wine. Lacks a certain structure to the body to truly make it a great wine. (5723 views)
Tasted by stercomm on 10/29/2010 & rated 88 points: On initial pop a real vegetal funkiness over shadows the fruit. After about a half hour getting blueberry and vanilla on the nose.Mouth feel is very smooth and medium bodied. On the palate getting candy like blueberry, almost Nehi like, some vanilla, some oak and spice. (4539 views)
Tasted by DRomulous on 1/31/2010 & rated 50 points: One of the worst wines I've ever had... I'm on bottle three of six. God Bless my wife for buying half a case for Christmas of this debacle. If I give you this as a gift, it's likely b/c I don't like you. (3698 views)
Tasted by lewisrise on 1/1/2010 & rated 89 points: Nose of cedar, pepper, and dark fruit. Dark fruit with some wood and spice. (3646 views)
Tasted by arass on 11/20/2009 & rated 86 points: peppery, went nicely with the spiciness of the asian, burst of flavor in the beginning and smooth later (3590 views)
Tasted by Champagneinhand on 5/3/2009 & rated 92 points: This was a nice fruit forward shiraz with lucious blueberry and cassis with a little oak that would mellow a bit more with a year or so of cellaring. Thought this was as good as the 2004 non reserve. Very smooth and enjoyable to drink, mated with vietnamese bun' with roasted and chopped pork covered with fish sauce and red peppers plus shriracha. Definitely better with food. (4319 views)
Tasted by vivaitalia on 1/26/2009 & rated 90 points: This is very similar to the marquis philips shiraz. The extraced shiraz grapes and american oak aging bring about gobs and gobs of candied blueberry flavor. I've had this wine before and absolutely loved it so this must be a bad bottle cuz it seems muted. Normally you get over the top, extracted and candied shiraz goodness. Some snobs bitch about these wines.... i hate pretension. Just appreciate it for what it is. And when you're in the mood for a fruitbomb, at 20 dollars this is a stellar choice. (4101 views)
Tasted by Wolfgang on 10/11/2008 & rated 86 points: Drank immediately after opening. initial funk and plum and pepper. Should have let breath it may have had a chance to evolve a bit more. (4009 views)
Tasted by BSteffes on 9/14/2008 & rated 88 points: This wine has gotten alot better. Let breath for 2 hours....and it explodes with vanilla, blueberry, and spice. Very good wine. Drink now! (4303 views)
Tasted by twelch on 8/27/2008 & rated 91 points: Blackberry, Dark fruits upon opening after an hour the nose turned to an espresso, coffee scent and tasted like a jamocha shake from arby's with some dark cherries in it. Smooth Tannins with a remarkably long finish for the price of this wine. Will see how it evolves over night. (4249 views)
Tasted by BSteffes on 5/24/2008 & rated 88 points: Very nice flavors of blueberry and loaded with vanilla. Not quite as complex as the '04...but a good bottle of wine. Similar to the MD two left feet. (4755 views)
Tasted by nubbin on 5/10/2008 & rated 88 points: Full bodied. Plum & ripe, dark berries. A touch of spice. Yummy. 13.5% alco (D7, F 5.5; Pine) (4427 views)
Tasted by kanjimoti on 1/14/2008 & rated 84 points: I remember tasting the 2004 Three Rings shiraz a couple of years ago and was very impressed. when I saw the 2005 at Costco for $16 I grabbed a bottle feeling confident in my purchase. I know that amount of money isn't much but when you expect great things from a wine and get an oak-forward, flabby wine with mushy red fruit and no sign that it came from Barossa Valley, you can't help but feel a little bit duped. What I look for in a good Barossa shiraz is what I call the Aussie paradox; a wine that is so full in body you need a spoon to drink it, yet the wine is pretty, displaying an aroma I can only describe as purple violets. Didn't get that at all here. I poured a second taste about thirty minutes after unscrewing the top and still got a noseful of oak. Disappointing. (4959 views)
Tasted by Combee1 on 11/2/2007 & rated 87 points: Chris Ringland wine. Aerated for 1-hour. Dense inky purple/dark garnet colors, medium opaque in glass. Big sweet nose of alcohol, cherry, cranberry, prunes and black licorice. Light-medium bodied mouthfeel with coarse/rough non-integrated tannins on finish. Cranberry, black licorice, and loads of alcohol on the attack. Finish was medium with bitter tannins, coffee, licorice, and metal shavings predominating. Also a bit green..stems? A big bold shiraz, offering lots of flavor and alcohol, but very disjointed and awkward. I let this decant overnight (12 hours) and tasted again. Much more polished and drinkable, but still has a way to go. Will buy again at this price point just to see what it might become. (4928 views)
Tasted by isaacjamesbaker on 10/27/2007 & rated 86 points: inky dark color. lots of spicy, plummy flavors in this wine. it's yummy, and there are some good sweet fruits, but the oak is a bit too much for me and the finish is kind of fake. there's also a bit of heat. this just isn't really wowing me. made by chris ringland. there's a bit of cabernet in here as well.  Tasted by BigTarheel on 10/22/2007 & rated 89 points: A thoroughly enjoyable fruit-filled ride. This may not be your choice if you prefer wines that require some serioud thought but for pure hedonistic quaffing, this is perfect. Dense, full-flavored and super-smoothe. Give it a try. (4930 views)
Tasted by jsokel on 9/25/2007 & rated 88 points: Good flavor, fruit on the nose, not very complex but a good wine. After an hour or so, it opened up a little more. I think another year would do it some good. (5163 views)
Tasted by Coach on 9/18/2007 & rated 80 points: An interesting shiraz-- probably opened it too soon. It would have benifited from a year or so more aging; hint of coffee and smokiness. I would buy and try it again in 2008. (5123 views)
Tasted by corkman on 9/14/2007 & rated 89 points: Deep red-purple color. The aromas were heavily red fruit, with just a hint of stewed or cooked fruit. Good mouthfeel, pleasant acidity. Shy tannins. This was fine pop the bottle and enjoy kind of wine. (5145 views)
Tasted by phnort on 8/18/2007 & rated 86 points: Good (5210 views)
Tasted by jinnimae on 7/30/2007 & rated 90 points: This was a delightful wine. It openned up nicely revealing a medely of fruit and chocolate flavors balanced by subtle spice, but was not a fruit bomb that can be typical of some Barossa shirazes. It was full bodied and smooth, and well liked by my dinner guests. (5326 views)
