Tasted by jpWino7 on 3/4/2024 & rated 60 points: Fine. Bitter and nothing special. Good for mimosas. (629 views)
Tasted by Neener67 on 11/24/2023: Thanksgiving: cranberry French 75 cocktail (1274 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 12/21/2022 & rated 90 points: The Fifth Annual Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine: Retail $14. Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, French Colombard, Pinot Noir. Pale straw with a nice sparkle. Quite shy with a hint of lemon. The palate is much fruitier, with nice citrus, a hint of sweetness, but it all works. 90 Points.

Tasted by dcwino on 7/25/2022 & rated 88 points: Costco Wine Blind Challenge (Mi Casa): Apple, bubble yum and light caramel, fine medium generous mousse, medium acidity and mineral, a medium long finish. A bit straightforward but correct.

Later, pronounced Granny Smith. (3205 views)
Tasted by Baxterna on 5/1/2022 & rated 88 points: Really tasty! Tart green apple, fruity delicious champagne for $15. Bought it for mimosas, but glad I tried it before adding fresh squeezed OJ. It was better than expected and I will definitely buy it again. (2665 views)
Tasted by ChateauShiny on 12/29/2021 & rated 87 points: It’s been a long time since I have popped one of these open.

2021 disgorgement date. Medium-light gold with lots of medium sized bubbles. Caramel and green apple nose. There is a hint of yeast and toast on the nose that builds up as it warms up from ‘fridge temperature. Medium bodied, fine fizzy bubbles on the tongue, and high focused acidity. I question if this is truly a Brut from the sweetness detected. Palate of green apples, lemons, peaches, and a hint of dough. Long tart lemon, caramel, and saline finish.

I am not going to lie - this is better than I remember it being. I personally think it is too sweet for a Brut and this is more like a Prosecco than a Champagne. As so, treat as such. (2759 views)
Tasted by OHWiner on 12/27/2021: Great value for the price. Crisp and light (2016 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 12/22/2021 & rated 89 points: The Fourth Annual World’s Largest Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine; 12/20/2021-12/23/2021: Retail $16. French Colombard, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir. Korbel claims this is the first American sparkler to be made with organically grown grapes--who am I to argue? The nose comes off as yeasty, fruity, and quite sweet (candied tree fruit). The palate comes off as only a touch sweet, but really just a smidge, with the fruit really the story. Creamy, fruity, good acidity, yeah, this is pretty darned good.

Tasted by CheviotCellar on 8/19/2021 & rated 87 points: Fine for the price/expectation. Offers more yeasty brioche flavors than proseccos at this price. Apple fruit is fine too. Good with appetizers or fried foods (1991 views)
Tasted by Tutterers on 6/28/2021 & rated 86 points: Yep, it’s Korbel. You get what you pay for. (1713 views)
Tasted by arperrymd on 2/6/2021 & rated 87 points: Not horrible for a 7 year old bottle of sparkling California juice. Decided to treat myself to a super fancy drink after a long night shift. Ripe apples and pears on the nose, perhaps with a whiff of almonds. Not much pop on the cork, but plenty of mesmerizing little bubbles. Lots of yeasty goodness in the mouth. Most of the fruitiness is gone and a little of the lemon curd remains. All in all, not too bad for something that should have been in a breakfast cocktail long ago. Now I can make way in bottom of my wine fridge for a much nicer bottle of bubbly. (1780 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 12/14/2020 & rated 89 points: The Third Annual Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine: Retail $13. Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, French Colombard, Pinot Noir. Straw color which is clearly on the way to yellow, with a traditional nose of tree fruit (peach) a touch of citrus (lemon curd), and decided freshly-baked-croissant goodness. Yum. The palate? It falls largely into place, with great tartness and a vibrant sparkle, but it is not quite as yeasty as the nose suggested, which, while disappointing to this champagne-hound, is not a deal-breaker. thedrunkencyclist.com (1932 views)
Tasted by Tutterers on 11/26/2020 & rated 84 points: Tasted it before it went in the mimosas- surprisingly refreshing. (1491 views)
Tasted by RMapou on 5/28/2020 & rated 83 points: Passable but would prefer a $10 Prosecco. (1786 views)
Tasted by Manthreejack on 2/22/2020 & rated 81 points: Bubbles are little big for good Sparkling. Has toasted bread flavors with hardly any citrus or fruit flavors. Drinkable for a cheap sparkling, and works well as a Mimosa base. (278 views)
Tasted by The Drunken Cyclist on 12/21/2019 & rated 87 points: The Second Annual Blind Tasting of American Sparkling Wine: Retail $13. Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, French Colombard, Pinot Noir. Flinty and a bit of citrus on the nose. Quite pale. Fruity, though on the palate, on the sweet side. A bit flabby, could use a shot of acid. Good to Very Good. 86-88 Points. thedrunkencyclist.com (2598 views)
Tasted by kevintprivett on 12/9/2019 & rated 75 points: Medium straw, medium bubbles but I poured poorly, weak smell, some lemon, medium acidity, overall very plain and mediocre

Pua pua gave it 5/5 (1821 views)
Tasted by gamlingman on 8/20/2019 & rated 87 points: For an inexpensive California Sparkling wine - Korbel consistently gets it done. Lotta flavor for the price and is a nice go to. Lots of pear and apple with a little buttery finish. Slightly sweeter than it should be but you can't ask more for a Sparkling wine in this price point neighborhood. (1126 views)
Tasted by arperrymd on 6/30/2019 & rated 87 points: Still pretty decent for a cheap bottle of knock-off California champagne that I purchased 5 years ago. Palate is apple, honey, and crispy sourdough bread. (2110 views)
Tasted by Catpaw67 on 5/28/2019: Yum (2001 views)
Tasted by Keep18 on 2/3/2019: Maybe old but chemical. Unpleasant. (1829 views)
Tasted by Keep18 on 12/31/2018 flawed bottle: Charleston New Year's (1251 views)
Tasted by Seville Wines on 11/29/2018: A bit sour. OK, for a cheap champagne. (1583 views)
Tasted by Muledog71 on 5/8/2018 & rated 89 points: Pleasant , simple bubbles at a great price. A bit of citrus on the palate, so decent fruit, moderate acid and a moderate finish. Decent enough house bubbles for 15$ (2321 views)
Tasted by Dan & Krista Stockman on 2/6/2018 & rated 89 points: You cannot beat this at the price. (2282 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
