Tasted by tonythib on 12/23/2012 & rated 89 points: Nice Acidic finish. Yellow hew color. Fantastic try offering. Slow and long legs. (4852 views)
Tasted by Janstan on 12/16/2012 & rated 88 points: A little petrol, improved after open for 30 minutes, mineral, taste was a bit grapey at first. had with cheeses (4848 views)
Tasted by John Dunlap on 10/7/2012 & rated 89 points: I find New York Rieslings very appealing and think they are underestimated. Color is as good as one would expect. Nose is quite nice and typical of new world Rieslings. Nose and palate are pretty similar and to be expected, given the newness of the wine. Notes of apple and apricot are apparent throughout. Likewise, there is from A to Z a crisp acidity ending with a lovely, very noticeable, green apple component. I am big fan of domestic Rieslings if the alcohol level is relatively low. In this case the alcohol level of is this wine is 11.5 percent, which is reasonable. Can’t wait until US producers make dry Riesling closer to 10 percent in alcohol -- like most German Rieslings.

The wine was served along side smoked trout filets with capers and water biscuits. (5336 views)
Tasted by Euell Gophar on 7/15/2012 & rated 87 points: Green apples and minerals flavors. Acidic and citrusy finish. Perhaps better with food like fresh cheese or sole. (5331 views)
Tasted by kingkanu on 6/26/2012: Light body. A little subtle lime and honey nose. Much more going on in the mouth, a little spritzy, fresh lime juice, really nice balancing acidity. Maybe a little short on the finish but a juicy delicious wine. (2088 views)
Tasted by danershi@gmail.com on 6/3/2012 & rated 93 points: Overall winner at a blind tasting with friends that featured 3 Finger Lakes Dry Rieslings, and one each from Germany, Ontario and Michigan. Light gold in color with a medium body. Starts with a burst of peach and citrus with a pinch of sweetness. Great balance. I would have been satisfied if this were the only wine I drank that evening. Weimer is a standout with their Rieslings. (1921 views)
Tasted by flwino on 5/20/2012 & rated 89 points: color: Clear and lucent
Aroma: citrus and floral. Not intense but very pleasant
Taste: refreshing. Not too sweet. Good on palate
FinisH; A real pleasure.

Time to break out another!!! (1946 views)
Tasted by Steve Jones on 4/25/2012 & rated 88 points: Riedel Glass Demonstration (Josef Barbados Restaurant): Huge honeysuckle, big volatile gas component. Citrus, spice; lacks a little acid for balance. (2581 views)
Tasted by Rgrusin on 3/5/2012 & rated 89 points: Perhaps the first truly dry Riesling I've had. I was surprised you could lose so much sweetness but still be in unmistakenly Riesling. Dry and crisp, with lemon peel and green apple. Loved it with spicy Thai food, yet it wasn't cloying once the food was gone. (2021 views)
Tasted by drinkfunkyanddance on 2/22/2012: After being disappointed by viognier, I am super impressed with this wine. As a die-hard Michigan rielsing lover and having only had just OK finger lakes riesling, I was skeptical. No more! Really delicious ripeness, apricot/white peach, yellow apple. Could have even used a bit more acid, but this was remarkably easy to drink, perfect with the food I ate. I can't see how anyone wouldn't like this wine. Buy it! (1883 views)
Tasted by tonythib on 2/16/2012 & rated 92 points: Fantastic example of a dry Riesling. Light yellow color. Aroma of citrus and floral. Nice acidic finish with a dry note. (2056 views)
Tasted by OleWyatt on 11/17/2011 & rated 86 points: Balanced acidity and hint of sweetness. Tart Meyers lemon and stone with full body mouthfeel (2534 views)
Tasted by Seth Rosenberg on 11/5/2011 & rated 84 points: Off the list at La Silhouette. Much different then the last few times I have had this wine - more forward nose of lime, minerals tropical fruit - banana, and bubble gum. Interesting on the palate - plush and soft, with tropical fruits and ripe apple, but also with an acid line underneath - lime and citrus. The latter showing in the finish as well with a touch of minerals. Nose - 4/4, Palate - 4/4, Finish - 4/4, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 0/2 = 12/20 (1919 views)

Tasted by pifcho on 10/22/2011 & rated 90 points: Served blind, this tastes like it is 100% made in Germany. Extremely balanced, which always seems to be the challenge with dry rieslings, this is a delight to drink. Grapefruit dominated palate. Nice acidity, minerality and a good length. This appears to be a medium term drinker, if you can keep your hands off of it. At 11.5% alc, the bottle disappears stunningly fast. My favorite NY wine so far! (2453 views)
Tasted by Jason Rzutkiewicz on 10/16/2011 & rated 90 points: (11.5%) Apple, floral blossoms with lemon and lime on the nose. The palate starts with bright tangerine, lemon flavors followed by crisp green apple notes on a backbone of crushed rock. A firm mineral, citrusy acidity lasts through to the finish which is long and lingering. A beauty, so refreshing and just the slightest hint sweet (0.9% RS) to add a pleasant richness to the palate. Mouthwatering to the last drop which you are sad to see go. This one is worthy of a case buy if I can find it… (2670 views)
Tasted by ews3 on 10/8/2011 & rated 88 points: crisp dry riesling with green apple and mineral flavors (2510 views)
Tasted by Philthebum on 8/24/2011 & rated 89 points: Apples and pears on nose. Light fruit on entry with good acid and mineralilty similar to alsace-reislings but with distinctive Weimer sulfur-minerals backbone. Slight petrol on finish. (2416 views)
Tasted by Seth Rosenberg on 8/11/2011 & rated 87 points: (0.9% RS, 11.5% alcohol) Muted nose. Palate of pit fruits, lime and minerals. Excellent balance. Nose - 3.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 13.5/20. (2083 views)
Tasted by insaneblaine on 7/30/2011 & rated 89 points: Green apple lemon and mineral components. Bone dry and great acid. (2388 views)
Tasted by JOsgood on 7/24/2011: Good domestic Riesling. Rich with many layers. (2468 views)
Tasted by jsums on 7/12/2011 & rated 92 points: Lighter golden color. Nose: golden apple and guava with lime peel, strawberry candy, orange blossom, and hints of wet slate and petrol. Medium body on the palate: fresh green apple and guava accented with lime peel, orange blossom, strawberry candy, and crushed slate minerality. Aggressive lime-centric acidity driving the flavors. Lingering slate, citrus peel, and some toothpick on the long dry finish. The benchmark for Finger Lakes dry Riesling. Should age very well. Very slightly different character than the '08, but every bit as good. Just gorgeous. (2423 views)
Tasted by winemo on 7/4/2011 & rated 90 points: This is a beautifully made NY state wine. Wonderful complexity. Strong scent of vanilla upon opening turned to pear, apple and citrus flavors. A bit of minerality. Very nice wine. (2466 views)
Tasted by mcnfarmer on 6/20/2011 & rated 90 points: Delicious! Crisp, cool summer easy-drinking wine which pairs beautifully with the chesses we brought out for "nibbles', and even with the bruschetta, believe it or not. (2942 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.
