Tasted by Coswinetaster on 2/16/2023 & rated 90 points: I found this bottle while moving. The wine is now 13 years old and what a treat. Deep ruby. Raspberry, cherry, and vanilla on the nose. Moderate to full bodied. Smooth and velvety. Cherry, raspberry and spice on the palate. No tannins. Moderate, smooth, slightly peppery finish. (527 views)
Tasted by tfesmgk on 10/28/2021 & rated 90 points: This wine never disappoints, even after 11 years. Good dark fruit with some wood and zin spice. Nothing overpowering but a good food wine. (1087 views)
Tasted by JuliannaDHS on 4/13/2020 & rated 92 points: Showed very well with 10 years of age. Still a full and large wine but also balanced and dare I say elegant. (1770 views)
Tasted by CosmicDude on 6/22/2019 & rated 93 points: My last bottle of this vintage. Still very nice. The bottle had moderate sediment and would need a decant - I did not and it spoiled the last bit.
It has reached maturity and is time to drink. The Seghesio zins are always high quality - rich, full bodied, low tannins, well balanced.

Must buy a few more (2264 views)
Tasted by dke on 9/17/2017: Good zinfandel, as usual, but this is too sweet for my taste. (4385 views)
Tasted by Lastberg on 9/1/2017 & rated 92 points: Still very nice, rich and lots of flavour (3396 views)

Tasted by sonic23 on 1/26/2017 & rated 90 points: Very smooth (3434 views)
Tasted by jeginmt on 12/17/2016 & rated 91 points: My last bottle of this vintage. Still very nice, consistent with my 2014 tasting notes. This bottle had moderate sediment warranting a decant, but no lengthy breathing was needed. I think it has reached maturity and is time to drink. I have found the Seghesio zins to be uniformly high quality. Rich, full bodied, low tannins, well balanced. (3035 views)
Tasted by Botte515 on 10/9/2016 & rated 92 points: Rasberry radiating nose. Full bodied, thick & slick after laying down a few years. Fruity, vanilla flavors with a short smooth, acid washing finish. Seghesio never disappoints with Zin, especially at their price point. (2039 views)
Tasted by redz on 9/19/2016 & rated 90 points: Really drinking well, short decant helped (1979 views)
Tasted by Tomportwine on 6/9/2016 & rated 89 points: This has matured in last 2 yrs. softened--the acidity is lower making it smoother. dark fruit with cedar/leather notes. very nice. (1918 views)
Tasted by Night Train on 3/8/2016 & rated 88 points: A lighter style without much bottom end. Mouth-filling (mostly raspberry) fruit leading to a really solid finish. Somewhat racy (a good thing), as opposed to heavy and hot. Holding up just fine. (2328 views)
Tasted by Halfeel on 1/16/2016 & rated 90 points: Reliably very good Sonoma Zindandel from Seghesio. (2302 views)
Tasted by txtiebreaker on 12/21/2015 & rated 93 points: With Penny, the Thorntons, and Mitchells. (2298 views)
Tasted by Patrik H on 10/10/2015 & rated 87 points: On the nose, blackberry, jam, dark fruit
On the palate, blackberry, leather, quite balanced even the high alcohol level.
Medium finish (2898 views)
Tasted by LINY08 on 9/14/2015 & rated 91 points: Drinking well right now. Had at backyard bbq. Dark fruit, spice with medium body. Not too jammy like some other zins can be at times. (2910 views)
Tasted by sam_rosato@hotmail.com on 9/13/2015 & rated 91 points: Vertically tasted the 2010 thru 2013
best was 2012, then 2010, 2011 & 2013 (1041 views)
Tasted by Zyulu on 9/12/2015 & rated 92 points: Licorice, dark berries, vanilla, , nice balanced had with barbecue meat. Really nice. (1002 views)
Tasted by psundberg on 9/12/2015 & rated 92 points: The 2010 Sonoma has always been our 'go to' Zin and the benchmark for which all other Zins are compared. Perfect balance of red fruit, oak and slight spice without the jamminess or licorice of other Zins. Very Smooth. Bummed this is our last bottle from several cases of 2010 Sonoma and no more in the Seghesio warehouse. (2018 views)
Tasted by Sheldog on 9/8/2015 & rated 87 points: So it is a bit of a fruit bomb, with a predominance of black cherry but most of the under $20 found in the grocery store are. But the reason this one stands apart is its heritage of long standing quality. The wine is rich with a very soft mouthfeel and tannic, capable of some additional aging but I'm not sure it will really benefit this particular wine. I think it is drinking well and a great zin for better than every day drinking and a wine almost anyone will enjoy. (1958 views)
Tasted by JuliannaDHS on 8/28/2015 & rated 88 points: A very nice Zinfandel if you are into those. I'm not anymore but i still enjoyed this wine for what it so and it went well with BBQ ribs. (1800 views)
Tasted by Night Train on 8/21/2015 & rated 88 points: Nice raspberries on the nose. Muted, tart cherries on the palate. Low viscosity, but something (acids?) danced on the back of my tongue long after the wine had been swallowed. Good value at $20, but not worth much more. Seems to be holding up fairly well. (1572 views)
Tasted by corkscrews on 8/3/2015 & rated 89 points: A nose of black cherry and spices, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red with blueberry, black cherry, mocha and spices on finish, easy drinking. www.winelx.com (1576 views)
Tasted by PSUSteve on 7/20/2015 & rated 90 points: With 30 minutes in the glass, this was much more balanced and smooth than previous bottles. Black fruit and spice with some bramble but not layered. Nice entry level wine but not up to the entry level Carlisle or Bedrock. (1765 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
