clearly sweeter than the Champagne, it had that California fruit signature. I still found it taut and precise, though, without flaw. I preferred the Champagne to it, but I didn't think this was an 8$ sparkler, either. then again, when I found out it was $80 list price, I wonder why anyone would choose this over the real deal? Closes with crystal clear acidity that lingers nice and long. This wine spent 10 years on the lees and was just disgorged in November 2011 - what a very special treat for Valentines Day! Schramsberg will release magnums and double magnums later this year so watch out for that - I will be watching....
