 Tasted by SimonG on 1/21/2016 & rated 87 points: Graves @ RSJ (RSJ, London): Mid to full garnet. A nicely savoury nose with a sense of sweetness. Fresh, good acidity. Just a bit of padding left through the middle but relatively linear. A touch green too and a Woody edg. In retreat. (*)** (4412 views)
 Tasted by Paul D on 1/21/2016: Graves and Sauternes Dinner (RSJ, Southwark, London): Medium garnet core, wide pale rim. Nose is quite fungal, mushroomy, earth. Medium bodied, quite harmonious in palate if unexciting, less mushroomy, vestiges of dried red fruit, medium length finish. Drinkable **. (4662 views)

Nose: wet earth, slight heat, black tea

 Tasted by DaleW on 7/31/2010: This bottle had a somewhat dried out cork and looked heavily bricked on pouring. The wine however picked up and actually showed quite a bit of body. Black plum and currant, leather, tobacco. Despite some tertiary notes this was not especially complex, but it was nice, and I ordered a couple bottles before night was over. B (6436 views)

 Tasted by Fatty Cat on 8/2/2003 & rated 80 points: Early Aug 2003: the cork crumbled at bottle opening; pale brown color; earthy aromas and flavors like dust, forest floor and mushroom; after a while weak red fruits were added; light body; mild acid.

This bottle was clearly in advanced decline.

 Tasted by Fatty Cat on 6/7/2003 & rated 90 points: Early Jun 2003: very pale golden red color; restrained nose of cassis, chocolate and smoke; in the mouth classic claret and earthy flavors; light body; filigran texture.

Parker gave this wine a very bad score, that was maybe the main reason why the bottle was so cheap (less than 20 $). For me it was a good wine. Not a stunner but very enjoyable. And it was an eye-opener in regards to critic's opinions. (665 views)

Red Bordeaux Blend

Red Bordeaux is generally made from a blend of grapes. Permitted grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and rarely Carménère.Today Carménère is rarely used, with Château Clerc Milon, a fifth growth Bordeaux, being one of the few to still retain Carménère vines. As of July 2019, Bordeaux wineries authorized the use of four new red grapes to combat temperature increases in Bordeaux. These newly approved grapes are Marselan, Touriga Nacional, Castets, and Arinarnoa.

Wineries all over the world aspire to making wines in a Bordeaux style. In 1988, a group of American vintners formed The Meritage Association to identify wines made in this way. Although most Meritage wines come from California, there are members of the Meritage Association in 18 states and five other countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Israel, and Mexico.
